Up til now I have been using my online database as my backup. I guess I'll have to rethink that.

ASAP.

Are you trying to copy the file and paste it, or copy the image and paste it?

If you're viewing the image and copy that it should paste fine into Profiler.

I've created a custom media type and added it to the profile of every film I've added to my Plex server.  It works very well.

I just moved all my television shows to the Ordered category.  That way I can see them in the online.

I just use tags so I can filter on tags when I just want to see TV (or no TV) but still keep everything I have in the Owned collection.

Until you no longer own it, since their content can disappear without a trace at any time.

You never own it.  All you "own" is the right to access the content during whatever interval the streaming service elects to make it available.

I can understand people who want to subscribe to a streaming service to watch something once or twice, but I don't understand the desire to "purchase" digital content unless it can be downloaded locally and viewed whenever (and on whatever device) one chooses.

I would say enter it as "Milkyway Image".

Link

I'm running Android version 12 on my Galaxy S22 Ultra and DVD Profiler seems to run fine.

However, if you're asking when we should expect to see DVD Profiler back in the Google app store I'd say never.

You can run the Database Repair Tool independently from DVD Profiler itself.

However, I would strongly recommend that rather than click on the link, you right-click and run the repair tool as administrator.

I hope that gets you back up and running.

Did it download from Google Play or did you use Samsung's Smart Switch to transfer your data from the old to new device?

Smart Switch.  Everything came across with no problem.

What this likely means is if you change devices you might have a hard time reinstalling it on the new device without finding the .apk and sideloading it.

I just went from a Note 9 to a Galaxy S22 Ultra and all my apps transferred across along with all my data.  No problem.

We should follow the written rules that the title should match the front cover of the artwork.

Then the title should obviously be Tom Sizemore: Behind Enemy Lines: SEAL Team 8: The Fight for Freedom Never Ends, since that's what's actually on the front cover.

Oh, but you say that's not all part of the title, because you've looked at the title block on the back cover and at the title screen in the credits.  But they both say SEAL Team Eight: Behind Enemy Lines.  What to do... what to do...?

A lot of stuff I report isn't.  Just look at the existing threads, a new spam pops up and the old spam is still there.  Some threads have so much existing spam it's ridiculous.

I think only the spam posts with links in them are being removed.  I don't know why the others seem to get ignored.

It's getting harder and harder to even look at today's posts. It must be at least 75% of them are spam and nothing is being done about it. Sad

What are you talking about?  Everything I've reported has been removed.

Some got a re-release with obviously new Disc-ID. So it is definitely wrong to change the ID IN the profile. The only chance to keep it correct would have been to create a new profile with the new ID!

Let us look at a possible scenario.

A box set is released with a UPC for the box, but none for the discs, so the discs are entered by disc ID and added to the box set as child profiles.  At some point after these profiles have been added to the database, someone buys the same box set (with the same UPC and cover art), but finds that the disc IDs for the discs are different.  What is he to do, create all new disc ID based profiles, and add them also as children to the parent profile? (After all, the parent profile is exactly the same in both cases except for the disc IDs of the discs.) That would make it look like the parent has twice as many discs as it really does.  Or does one determine that they may, in fact, add additional disc IDs to the existing disc profiles and keep the box set parent from looking like a bloated mess?

Anyway, that's one way I can imagine a disc ID based profile acquiring multiple disc IDs.

Child profiles are optional thus all features on the release should be added to the main profile as a normal profile.

No.  The rules are not ambiguous about this.
Quote:
Sets containing the same film on multiple media types (such as a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack) are to be entered as a normal profile for the main media type (Blu-ray in this example)

...A combo which includes HD media (HD-DVD, Blu-ray) as well as DVD should use the details from the HD media in the main profile.

The rules make it clear that the disc containing the "main media type" (the HD media) is to be used to populate the profile.  The SD disc may optionally be added, and any features on that disc would be added to that profile.

I don't see anything in the rules making any allowance for adding features from the DVD to the HD profile.

should I submit this and the other (NEW) box Taboo Collection 1-4, so that individuals purchasing that way can find the box that they purchased?

Not unless there is a UPC on the box.  It would be nice if Invelos had a site feature where users could share manual profiles with one another the way we share layouts and reports.

Looks good so far. Opened a VM (Oracle VM VirtualBox) which never had a DVD Profiler installed. Switched off the network, installed Profiler and everything looked OK. While restoring a backup it warned of limitations, coz unregistered, I only restored 50. Then entered registration, new BD restore, no nagging and every profile was restored.

Excellent news.  Thank you.

Just in case, what files would I need if I had to do a fresh install and invelos is unavailable?

I'll take a stab and say that you would only need a database backup and either the executable or the zip file from the products download page.

I haven't tried this, but can you unlock the full functionality of a new DVDP installation using your registration key without a connection to Invelos.com?

Time will tell.  These aren't time sensitive contributions are they?

ok, Ken may have stepped into a Black Hole, but where are the other forum and site administrators? Did they take an oath of silence, all quit or what? I have Forum maintenance needs!

The funny thing is, maintenance is being done, the forums are being moderated, and Ken does visit the forums from time to time, but there is absolutely no interaction between Invelos and the forum members (other than via the contribution system).  It's a very mysterious situation.

@scotthm: Do you have any prove that I broke any rule?

No, but I'm not responsible for your ban.

I'm going to guess (because you mention them so often) that it may have something to do with the use of Alternate Versions.

No, I've never heard of this problem before.  I'm running DVD Profiler on four Windows 10 computers and haven't seen anything like this.
