Planet Earth (HD DVD) has a slipcover too. snip snip. Well, I don't own any HD DVD so I dodn't comment on that format. However, I am disappointed that people that own NEITHER format are voting in this poll. If you don't own any, you should be voiting NEUTRAL. This poll is totally useless. | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

I've scanned all 9 of my BR discs and not one have I scanned with the case logo. Although the 2 Pirates of the Caribbean BR's discs, have a slipcase and those do have the Blu-Ray logo on the top of the slip case. So therefore those do have them.
Right, it is that simple clear and logical. |

We don't remove widescreen edition or anything else from the regular covers. Then again, we snip the spines and we don't allow the stickers. | | | Dan |

I should have added a to my comment to indicate that I'm not in favor of removing it. To me, the presence of the banner on the slipcases is further proof that the banner is part of the entire cover art...even though it isn't on the paper portion of the artwork. | | | ...James

Paul Although I agree that folks that don't own these should not vote because they are not affected by the outcome, I give them a little more credit than this! | | | Hal |

All I'm trying to do is see where people are on this issue so we can get it into the rules. | | | Dan | | | Last edited: by Dan W |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting Dan W: Quote: All I did was take his comment to it's logical conclusion. That's plain sarcasm Dan, not the "logical conclusion". The banner has a significance. The hinges on the case does not. The Art is important and the banner is important. The entire case is as insignificant as it would be on a DVD case scan. Paul |

Quote: All I'm trying to do is see where people are on this issue so we can get it into the rules. Yes, very clearly an objective survey based on your questions... Erm, no, wait, looks more like a personal preference poll in a bad disguise. | | | Erik

| Posted: | | | | Quoting Dan W: Quote: Are you for real? All I did was take his comment to it's logical conclusion. Uh...no. Every e-tailer, reviewer, print ad, DVD catalog program, release artwork, and slipcover etc that I've ever seen for HD DVD includes the banner. I cannot say the same for "the entire case" and I've not said that. Quote: Get over it. All I'm trying to do is see where people are on this issue so we can get it into the rules. That's not all you're trying to do. You stacked the deck with the wording of the poll options. That's not 'seeing where people are'. That's pushing them where you want them. | | | ...James

Why did you vote? Because, even though I don't presently own BD or HD titles, it doesn't mean that I don't plan to in the near future. What is decided here will affect what and how I will contribute scans to the database and I have every right to express my opinion in a public poll. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

But it does burn a little to have people who don't own these to now tell the rest of us that our work over the last year or so has to be changed. | | | ...James
