I have over 2800 titles in my library, I use an iPhone as my primary cataloging version of DVD Profiler.

When I couldn't update my library online, I decided to sync directly to my desktop version of DVD Profiler.  Well, upon syncing to a new library on my PC, upon completion of syncing I had 27! movies in both my PC and iOS!

I was able to restore my phone, and did it again... POW, again, 27 movies.  Restored again, erased the PC version, erased my online library, and POW! again, 27 movies.

HELP!  How can I sync my library online??? I use the online library for many reasons, and now it also has 27 movies on it, and I have a restored iPhone, as the only full copy of my library.

PLEASE HELP!

Thanks.

besides your phone can you log in to your account via windows ..?  what is the amount of titles 2800  or 27?

if 27  are (almost) hooped .,,  if so go back to your 'windows versions' of profiler..

if so there is your current older 2800 titles .. then reload back to the cloud- the full library ..

once done , restore your data on your phone back to the cloud database ..

Invelos was built for windows XP 7 8 and 10 .  smart phones come  second ..

I have 2884 titles in my library.  I primarily keep my library and update my library on my iPhone.  From that I (used to) update online, my iPad, and my windows version from the online copy.

In trying to sync and fix this, I erased my online library, and installed a new empty copy of the windows version.

Now I can’t sync my iPhone to online, and (since I don’t keep a regular copy on windows), when I tried to sync to a fresh copy of the windows version, it ONLY copied the 27 updated titles from my phone’s library vs. online.  This is VERY odd because the fresh windows copy didn’t know what I had online at all, but when I WiFi synced the library from my phone it also erased the other entries on my phone, bringing the total of my library on my phone, online, iPad, and windows to 27 titles total.

Sounds like the problem is on the iPhone as it sees the changes as the whole library.

Luckily I had a copy of my iPhone and restored the phone back to 2884 titles. But can’t sync it to anything!  I need and use my online copy, and iPad, both of which is now stuck at 27 titles.

I only tried to sync with windows because it seems to be the only other way to sync from my phone.

I wonder, is there any way to scan and repair the iPhone database.

Thanks for helping!  Help!

Unfortunately I deleted my online library as a diagnostic tool, assuming if it didn't work I could backup to the windows app and then restore.  I was completely wrong as I can't sync (keeping my titles/library intact).

So my whole library is now ONLY on my iPhone.  There has to be some sort of solution, or some way to make my iPhone see that it has the ONLY collection of data and not 27 new titles so it will sync everything.

Help! (PLEASE AND THANK YOU!)

There are 3 options when creating a database with the mobile app, "Connect to DVD Profiler for PC", "Connect via DVD Profiler Online" and "Local Database".  The "Local Database" type does not provide for syncing your collection with DVD Profiler for PC or DVD Profiler Online.  You'll have to change your Connection Type first by selecting the "Databases" menu item.  From the "Databases" screen under the "Databases" option select your database.  On the next screen select the "Change Connection Type" option.  From there you can change your connection type to "DVD Profiler for PC" or "DVD Profiler Online".

If your collection only exists on your iPhone select the "DVD Profiler Online" connection type.

Once you've changed the connection type to "DVD Profiler Online" return to the "Databases" screen and select your database from the "Update Database" option.  From there log in to your account.  Once logged in you'll be taken to the "Select Update Task" page.  At the top of the page there are options to "Upload" from your iPhone or "Download" from DVD Profiler Online.  Below those options you're shown a comparison of the database on your iPhone versus your database online.  Select the "Upload" option.

Once uploading the database from your iPhone you'll have the option obviously to download your online database to your iPhone if you ever need to.  With your online database in place you could then download it from DVD Profiler for PC if you want.  Once downloaded to DVD Profiler for PC you could even start syncing locally between DVD Profiler for PC and your iPhone, occassionally uploading from "DVD Profiler for PC" to "DVD Profiler Online" keeping your online database updated as well.  You'd do this by either creating a new database on your iPhone using the "DVD Profiler for PC" connection type, then downloading your DVD Profiler for PC database to your iPhone or instead change your "DVD Profiler Online" connection type to "DVD Profiler for PC" and start syncing.

Thank you very much for your extensive reply.  My problem, is that I am unable to use DVD Profiler Online.  I have been using for years, but there is now a serious problem with my phone failing to sync.

When I now go to 'Update Database", log in, and choose "Upload", it gets through the first three items on the list, but then fails at "Uploading collection".  The error is "Error uploading collection. Please try again later." I've tried countless times and it doesn't change.

For the record, this happens with or without the "Get Invelos Updates:" Switched on or off, and it was happening when I have my collection online except for 27 changed or added entries to my 2884 title collection.

NEW DIAGNOSTIC TEST RESULT: So I created a new database for on my iPhone.  My online library was empty.  I tried to upload the EMPTY database.  I received the error above. It couldn't upload my library with NO entries.  I then tried to download my EMPTY ONLINE database and it succeeded to sync (no titles, but also no errors.)

Then I went to my PC version of DVD Profiler which still has my (ONLY) 27 new or changed titles from the partial sync I was able to achieve previously, and uploaded those to my Online.  I was then able to DOWNLOAD those 27 titles to my iPhone.  THEN, with my 27 titles now on my iPhone, I tried to upload to online again, and again it failed with the same error.  It seems that uploading to online is broken in general.

Next I deleted one title from this 27 title database on my phone, and was successfully able to sync to my PC version, which now reflects the 26 titles that are in this database on my phone and PC. I was then able to sync to 26 titles online.

I then created a third empty database on my phone, this time made it to sync with online.  It succeeded to download/sync the 26 titles to the new library, then I tried to upload/sync, and received the same consistent error.

Now this is going to get dangerous.  I'm doing these tests live...

I'm going to create a new empty database on the PC, and then try to sync the full library from my phone via wifi.  The last time I did this, it reduced my entire library to my 27 changed titles.  What I did this time, by switching to local, and emptying the libraries, was make my iPhone database have NO changed titles, just the full library, and I so hope it successfully syncs and doesn't erase my library again. (I'll have to restore my iPhone to recover.). Also because this is dangerous, I'm going to erase my online library first too.

About to do this...

AND. DAMMIT!  It synced, and I now have 27 titles total on both the iPhone and the Windows version.

So the problem is that its impossible to upload to online (the error shows even if there are NO titles in the library), and for no apparent reason my 2884 library reduces down to my most recently changed or added titles and erases the other 2857 when I sync with the PC.

Horribly, I now have to go through a while iPhone restore since there is no way to archive and restore the database on the phone other than restore from my backup.

...and it's now months that this problem has been happening.

Thanks for your help.  Any ideas???  I don't know why it's erasing the full library as the library didn't even show those 27 as new or changed anymore.

HELP!

One interesting thing...

Looking at my library on the PC, it reads that I have 28 total discs, and filtered it's 27. I said clear all filters, and it still says filtered 27 and total 28.  Ordered and Wish list show 0.

I just synced the 28 title library to online, and am about to see what shows up when I look at it online.  That shows 27 titles total now, and 27 owned.

I wonder if there is some invisible title that is corrupting my iPhone database and as it syncs with the PC version it somehow reads it as the end of the file, or there's an error that happens at this point, and the PC version says it's done and syncs back to the phone that it's done and erases the other 2800 titles.

THEN on the PC, I resynced from online (which showed 27 titles not 28), and it changed the PC version to read 27 titles, not 28. so what is and where did that 28th title go? It seems to be what's corrupting the PC transfer.

The upload in general to Online from the phone seems that it fails no matter what, even if there is an empty new database.  the only thing I haven't tried is deleting the app (and therefore all of it's existing settings and data) and reinstalling to see if I can upload then.

The biggest problem is that I NEED to keep my curated 2800+ library and need to successfully transfer it from my iPhone to online. (I was syncing to PC to achieve this goal indirectly.)

I've started the multi-hour restore of my iPhone XS Max.

ANY IDEAS PLEASE????

A corrupted profile can definitely gum up the works. I am assuming you are well aware of DB Repair. So, I'm sure you have done that. Do a Full Repair. Once done, do a database backup, which I am sure you have already done.

Now:

(1) Open a new clean database
(2) Restore your best backup into it
(3) Backup
(4) Run DB Repair
(5) Backup again

You should have a gloriously clean and functioning database at this point.
Thanks for your support.

Thank you.

I do know exactly what you mean.  But my problem is that the broken database appears to be on my iPhone, and it's the ONLY copy of my library.

I need to repair the database on my iPhone, or find some way to transfer the library successfully FROM the iPhone to what PC version, which hasn't been working.

I ONLY have my library now on my iPhone... the iOS version.

IS THERE ANY DATABASE REPAIR FOR IT?

Thanks...

Here's the problem.  When I do #2, it copies 27 titles to my PC, and then erases the rest of the library off my iPhone.  IS THERE ANY WAY TO STOP ANY ERASURE OF TITLES ON MY iPHONE?

then, I have tried to repair that database, restored my phone to the full library from my iPhone backup (a multi-hour endeavor after each sync attempt), and when I try to sync with the repaired database, it still erases my iPhone's titles and leaves me with 27 titles.

since your library is on your phone . .I would create a new data base on your PC.. then restore your library back to the data .. IF you are saying you don't have your library in the cloud ( invelos )  only your phone,, you may be hooped .. the iphone/ method was a backup to your data  not the other way around ..

I use my phone dat all the time .. BUT it is taken from my invelos  data  which is uploaded from my PC ..

I have heard that a lot of people are dumping their PC's and laptop software and just relying on their phones.. but that primarily is for email , internet and certain office aps  ( excel/ word /PPoint and Access  not sure if Access or PP can 'generate'  new reports on its own.

I don't think you deleted your on line reports  just kept adding to it..  So therefore:
get to a laptop and/or windows based PC  from 7 to 10 will work fine ..

Then if not installed  Install fresh  if install remove entirely form the PC .. then download the software from the main page   once installed then  log in to your account  .. then "download"  what your account has in its data back to the PC  ..

Next once satisfied that the data is good or near up to date)  go phone data and compare make notes of what titles are missing .. Add the/any  missing titles to your' PC data'  .,  Then 'UPload the data''  back to the data base in in the Invelos 'clouds' ,...
NEXT
then completely remove the software and data of your phone  and then reinstall and download the saved data to your Phone ..

NOW if the Previously online data was corrupt and won't accept any new entrys  by creating a new data base and then saving it ...  should work  in reverse if you now upload back ....

Thank you for your post and suggestions.

Sorry for my delay in responding... I was out of town for a few days.

In effort to fix the problem, I erased my library online assuming it might be that that was corrupt, causing the iPhone to not be able to update the online library.

So yes, at this time the ONLY library is on my iPhone, and it works, but can't seem to be transferred to any other device, pc, cloud, iPad, etc.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE MY DATABASE IS LOCATED ON MY IPHONE? CAN THAT PARTICULAR FILE BE TRANSFERRED TO THE IPAD VERSION, OR SOMEHOW REPAIRED AND EXTRACTED TO THE PC VERSION?

So unless invelos has a backup of my library... by some odd chance...  I have NO online library of my 2800+ titles.

Thank you for your continued help.

How much customization and personal data do you have? If little or none, all you need is a list of the profileIDs in a file somewhere, and then at least you will have a raw backup mechanism. Anybody can generate a database for you by simply downloading from Invelos using "Add multiple", using a text file of all the profile IDs (UPC/EAN + Locality). I didn't go back and re-read your whole saga, but of course if you have a PC, then you can do it yourself.

If you have a lot of customization, then make sure you save the latest XML export you can find. For the profiles in there, all your customization can be retrieved using plugins. Just go ahead and collect the XML if you have it, and keep it safe, just in case.

Alternatively, if the iOS version can generate reports, then go ahead and create some kind of well-konwn output file format, such as pdf. There are tools lurking around that can read that data.

I know nothing about the iOS version or that environment, so unfortunately, I cannot go further.
