Hi,
I recall scenes from several different movies but can't recall which.  I think it likely that others have similar questions and hope that the title of this post might encourage others to request assistance.  I know I enjoy trivia and if the answer helps someone that's a win-win.

My first question:
I recall a scene that seems to have been set in pre-revolutionary America.  There was a fortress that would soon be overwhelmed by attackers.  When all seemed lost the sound of bagpipes could be faintly heard in the distance indicating that help was on the way.  The film was in color and was likely from the mid 40's.

Second:
Another color film from the 40's.  Hawkeye may have been the protagonist and there was a cave whose entrance used a huge bolder as a revolving door.

I am 76 and would most likely be at a loss to answer any question about a film I watched a week ago.

Me too, I'm 18. Smartphone generation, memory power is obsolete.
Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played. [Ken Cole, DVD Profiler Architect]

This sounds like The Unconquered  from 1947, starring Gary Cooper and Paulette Goddard.

Thanks Scott!
Indeed it was Unconquered.  I bought the disc several years ago but never got around to watch it.  I had excluded it as a possibility because I recalled seeing part of Unconquered on television many years ago when TV was black and white and assumed that it wasn't a color film.

Thanks to Scott I'm at 50%.  I'll try a couple more.
Another color film from the 40s. It involved Crusaders and when they were about to be overtaken, they set a trap of logs on a hillside that could be released to roll down the hill and crush whoever it was that was after them.
And now for some black and white film noir.  There was a machine gun set up behind a doorway that would fire at whoever opened the door.  This may have been on a ship and platinum was involved.
