| Posted: | | | | I just voted no on a contribution because I couldn't figure out any way to make a comment appear with a "?" vote. There is no comment box beside the "?" icon.
Where does the comment go? |

| Posted: | | | | "?" means "Neutral," which is not a vote at all, it just removes it from your list of unvoted contributions without voting.
You can either private message the contributor, or post a public message on the forums if the contributor doesn't respond. | | | 99.9% of all cat plans consist only of "Step 1." |

Sorry, but I have no idea what you mean. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

The voting button with the yellow "?" named "Neutral" doesn't have a comment-box, because voting "Neutral" usually means the same as "I don't care" so there is no need for an additional comment.
Voting "No" (The button with the big red "X") has a comment-box, because it is mandatory to state the reason for this vote. a) Because it may be helpful to the contributor to be pointed at an (accidental) error and gives him the opportunity to correct his contribution.
b) Because the screener who decides about the contribution needs the information to, to be able to decide. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

You can't "vote" neutral. It's not a vote. It removes it from your list of pending contributions, without casting a vote. Period. It doesn't "usually" mean that, it always means that. | | | 99.9% of all cat plans consist only of "Step 1." |

| Posted: | | | | Just a minor question:
What exactly does your comment have to do with the fact that clicking on "Neutral" doesn't require a comment? Or is it that you just want to turn another thread into a p*** contest?
And as long as "Neutral" is listed among the other voting options I will continue to call it a vote. PERIOD. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

You may, of course, call it whatever you like, but Grendell is right in that it really isn't a vote. The only function that the "neutral" button has, is that it subsequently hides that particular contribution from your list of Unvoted Pending Updates. Which immediately explains why we can't comment on it - as it's not a vote, those comments wouldn't be seen by anyone: the neutral "votes" can neither be seen by the voters, nor by the screeners. Again, it only serves to hide that particular contribution from you, but absolutely nobody else can see it. Rather than "Neutral", the button should state: "Don't show me this again." | | | Last edited: by T!M |

| Posted: | | | | If more people who didn't know what they were talking about or voting on would use neutral, the site would be better for it. But I digress. I'll use neutral when I don't care or for stuff I don't really own, but track dubs or customs of. If I have to say something while voting neutral, I'll determine if my vote is leaning more yes or no and use which ever one it's leaning more towards, with a note to the screeners to consider it a neutral vote with comment. Seems to work. |

Where does the comment go? You should rescind that NO vote so it does not confuse the issue. Voting neutral means you are abstaining from voting. And as you noticed currently you cannot abstain from a vote with a comment. Comments are for those that vote YES or NO. If you have a comment or question about a contribution and you wish to abstain you should PM the contributor, or simply place the question in the forums. |
