| Posted: | | | | This has probably been asked before and I just wasn't paying attention, but I just now noticed that films rated 18 (UK rating) do not show up in my online collection, even though they do in my desktop program.
It seems that they are considered Adult in the online. Is there a setting for the online that I'm missing? | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | You need to change the 'Show in public listing' settings that can be found in the online collection settings of the website, under the my profiler link.
If you've set parental controls in profiler you may need to edit that as well. | | | IVS Registered: January 2, 2002 | | | Last edited: by Lithurge |

| Posted: | | | | Yeah, but I don't want to show adult titles. The way I've configured Profiler it shows 18 titles but not Adult titles. I want the same functionality online. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | FYI Titles rated 18 in the UK are not necessarily Adult. This includes titles like Django Unchained, Bullet to the Head, Blitz, Subspecies, Death Race (2008), Hobo with a Shotgun, Starship Troopers and many many more. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | I would suggest the vast majority of 18 rated material in the UK is not adult in the profiler definition, not since the R18 rating was introduced.
A workaround is to use the exclusion function in profiler, you can set this by clicking red circular icon with the white hand inside it. You can set it to hide the profiles you don't want to display in the public and/or private view. | | | IVS Registered: January 2, 2002 |

As a workaround you may want to take Lithurge's suggestion into consideration. It's not considered adult in the desktop program. It works fine there. So it ought to work for the online as well, but it doesn't. Bug? Re the exclusion function, how does that work? That icon is always disabled for me. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. | Posted: | | | | No idea if it's a bug or not, but it's worked that way for as long as I can remember. The other thing I've noticed is titles profiler considers adult never show up in the recent purchases section on my user profiler, even with adult titles allowed in the collection list.
Should just be a case of right clicking the icon which should bring up a list of six options, the bottom two being the ones you want. | | | IVS Registered: January 2, 2002 | | | Last edited: by Lithurge |

I always assumed that a grayed-out icon meant no functionality. I think that's a very poor design choice. Oh well. So I have to allow adult titles, and then go to each individual adult title and disallow it. That's just plain stupid. Lucky that I don't have very many, then. Well, thanks for the help anyway. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

Lucky that I don't have very many, then. To be honest I agree that it's syupid; but for info it's not just the UK that has this problem with 18/R18 - AIUI all localities have the problem where the highest 'normal' rating is considered on the same tier as the proper 'Adult' rating when showing online... I actually asked if it could be changed some time ago in the pre-Invelos era but no joy. At least we now have the exclusion capability that we didn't back then, which I suppose is an improvement. You should be able to speed up the process a bit though (I did this for excluding real adult titles from my Android devices; I didn't need to for the online as I keep them in a separate Collection List (so I have Owned, Ordered, Wish List and Adult) which is another option for you. Filter on Adult genre (all Adult films must have this genre by DVDP Rules) and Collection -> Flags -> Flag All Filtered (manually unflag those that are Adult genre but not 'really' Adult as far as you are concerned). Then select just Flagged -> Set Exclusions and tick the Hide in online public listing box Unflag everything and remove the filter All done | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

I want to have them for watch tracking purposes but in the flat online list they just make a mess. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

Correct, but for DVDProfiler it automatically is.
Profiler also considers NC-17, TV-MA and Unrated to be Adult titles. What I would like to see the Adult rating broken away from the others, as its own separate rating, rather than grouped with any other. | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield | | | Last edited: by Danae Cassandra |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting the online help file: Quote: Restricting Your DVD Profiler Online Collection
DVD Profiler's parental control feature allows you to hide adult profiles. The option to hide titles in your DVD Profiler Online collection is set in the My Profiler->my collection options in the DVD Profiler website.
Although the option to hide or show titles is set in the website, the definition of adult is set in DVD Profiler.
You may choose to change your definition of "adult".
The last sentence links to the descition of how to change your definition of "Adult" in Profiler. So this clearly states that the online should use the definition of "Adult" that you set in Profiler. It doesn't, so I would consider this a bug. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | Maybe you need to re-upload your collection after you've changed the settings both off- and online. If you check my collection you'll find the movie El Gringo with a German FSK-18 rating, John Rambo with a SPIO rating (that's basically off the German rating chart) as well as Kill Bill with a British rating of 18 or Tanz der Teufel ( The Evil Dead) with an Australian R rating. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online
