I have an older laptop that I rarely use and which has Windows XP. I maintain a copy of DVD Profiler on this laptop. (There's also a copy of DVD Profiler on my Window 7 desktop that I use frequently.) When I used the laptop today I was prompted that I had not checked for updates to the database in 254 days, and a separate prompt to update to 3.8.2.

When I checked for updates to the database, I received a prompt that the new database format was incompatable with my older copy of DVD Profiler, and to upgrade to 3.8.2.

Can 3.8.2 be used on an older laptop that uses Windows XP?

Thanks.

Yes it can. I'm running DVDP at my work PC which is still on WIndows XP and it works just fine.

Thanks, D J Doena. DVD Profiler update on the Windows XP laptop appears to be working okay. I appreciate your taking the time to reply.

Before posting here I had attempted to check the "readme.txt" file at the update page to see if 3.8.2 worked with Windows XP, but couldn't access it.  After updating, I saw via 3.8.2 that the what-systems-this-works-on information is there. I then checked the readme.txt link on the update page again and still couldn't access it.

Not sure how to report a broken link, so I've posted it here.

Glad DJ gave the reply you needed; just to confirm, I have 3.8.2 running on XP on all the PCs I use, home and work!
