No, it will not run.

DVDProfiler requires MS-Windows as Operating System
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Win 8 works without problems. Only issue is with Database Query plugin which doesn't work. Unfortunately it seems that Mark doesn't have time or intrest to support it anymore. Shame, it was one of the best...

Will completely suffice for your purposes.

Just be aware that those low-budget Laptops aren't built to last.
So if you plan to work more than 3 hrs. a day on this machine I'd recommend other machines.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!

I just took a look at the reviews. Personally, I would not buy that machine. In the past, I have gotten good deals by shopping for unadvertised "Manager's Specials" at Best Buy and Office Depot - such as a perfectly good item that was returned, and is now officially "used," or a discontinued open box demo. Usually you get the full warranty and a lot more for your money.

Also, a little known fact is that some companies, IBM for one, have special purchase programs for employees where they are allowed to buy a limited number of discounted machines for friends and family. If you know an employee or retiree of IBM or Dell or Lenovo, you might look into that. There are also special prices for Students, Teachers and Stock Holders.

I hope you can take advantage of one those methods to get a lot more for your money. Good luck.

Here is the IBM Certified Pre-Owned website. Dell also has a similar site.

Employees / retirees get even lower prices than what you see there, and friends are eligible.
Thanks for your support.
