Since the upgrade to 3.8.2, every time I use this tab (under Online-->Other Websites-->IMDB Search for this Title, the page comes out this (in this case Trouble with the Curve): "Trouble with the Curve;tt=on". Also in this case, this is the message that shows up: No results found for "Trouble with the Curve;tt=on". Huh?
My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT.
FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that.
Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it!

Could be because IMDB changed their search engine/method.

But again, it doesn't seem to affect all profiles either.

Total Recall (2012) is also affected.

Dredd brings up many titles and names, but not for Dredd. As does Taken 2.

It's something I don't usually use so never noticed it before.

Could it affect only pre-releases or does it also affect older movies too?

I tried a few older titles and it works nicely. For instance, the search leads to the proper movie when several versions exist, for instance Pride and Prejudice (1940), (1980), (1995) and (2003).

However, the search works for Sense and Sensibility (1981) and (1995) but fails for the (1971) version (giving Results for "Sense and Sensibility;tt=on").

What is going on?

Seems to be hit or miss. Some searches work, some don't.
CubbyUps is probably right about IMDb's search method. Something for Ken to look into, I think.

I googled tt=on imdb, and #2 listed result was Find - IMDb. Clicking on that link, it looks like they changed their search page/search results on November 28th. What does Ken need to change, then?

The search string that works for Cast/Crew Edit 2 on IMDb is:

http://akas.imdb.com/find?s=tt&q=

plus the URL encoded title.

For example "Das gibt Ärger" ("This Means War"):

http://akas.imdb.com/find?s=tt&q=Das+gibt+%c3%84rger

Updated to their new search format, should now work correctly.

The reason it seemed to affect only some titles is that we send the user directly to the title's IMDB page if we have an IMDB link for that title.  If not, we fall back to the search page.

I don't know why but IMDb's search is broken since a few days. For example try and search for "Musik i mörker" (an early Ingmar Bergman film). It gets no results but if you go to Bergman's filmography it's right there.

Can the IMDb tab be added next to the Rotten Tomatoes tab? So, instead of going to Online/other websites/IMDb, it can be right above my collection list? Is that something I can do, or would that require a program update? Please and thank you.

Eric

Edit: Nevermind....I figured it out.

It does work now. I tried again the search for Sense and Sensibility (1971) and it brought me to all 24 results for "Sense and Sensibility" (no more tt=0n). I checked the profile links for this title: no IMDB link. I added the link to the IMDB page and the search now leads directly to that page.
