Every time I open Dvdprofiler, or click on anything in profiler, a new tab opens up in my internet browser to this address. What is going on? |

| Posted: | | | | There are two possible solutions that I recall. First of all, it's more of a browser issue than a Profiler issue.
The easy answer (as stated by Ken some time ago, I think) is that if you do not use HTML code in your Notes, disable the option under "Tools -> Options -> Display" and this should stop the message from appearing.
Another (particularly if you DO use HTML) can happen if Internet Explorer is not your default browser. If this is so, uninstall Profiler, set Internet Explorer as your default browser, reinstall Profiler, set your default browser back to what you usually user (Firefox, Chrome, Opera, etc) | | | If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

Set IE as default browser restart computer start DVDP close DVDP set your usual browser as default restart computer Problem should be gone now. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | I tried these suggestions and they didn't work. When I had IE set as the default browser, it would constantly try to open a file in a open file dialogue box. When I switched to firefox, it resumed opening the file in the browser. Ugh. This is becoming frustrating. Any more suggestions? HTML notes are shut off because I don't use them. |

| Posted: | | | | This issue is not related to your choice of default browser. The program only uses the Internet Explorer engine to display notes. Disabling HTML notes will indeed resolve the problem, but if you wish to use HTML notes, just reinstall Internet Explorer. No other steps are required. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

| Posted: | | | | I am not using HTML notes. They are disabled, have been disabled, and will continue to be disabled. However, I am still having the problem. Here is what I get every time I click on any profile in profiler. As you can see, html notes are not enabled. | | | Last edited: by mistermoravec |

| Posted: | | | | With IE now reinstalled and set as the default browser and HTML notes still off, this is now what pops up every time I click on any profile. I get two new boxes for every profile I view. |

| Posted: | | | | I redownloaded directly from microsoft.com I then chose to install that file, but I received a message saying that the version I had installed was newer. I then unselected it from being an active/available windows component from the control panel (since an actual uninstall is impossible from windows 7, as far as I know), I restarted the computer and then reactivated it, and restarted again. I checked windows update and I have the latest one installed. None of this helped at all, so I then made it my default browser, but that didn't help either.
In dvdprofiler I have tried having html notes selected and not selected and that hasn't helped either. |

Why would one want to replace one security whole by another? Or even worse add a spyware tool? | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | i have tried every suggestion in this thread, to no avail.
it is SO frustrating that i have not used the program in quite some time.
i recently downloaded and installed the update to see if that fixed anything. no, it didn't.
so i'm off again to not use a program i paid for and actually did enjoy using until i started getting this problem a while back. |
