Child Profiles were just contributed for NCIS: Season 8 (thank you rorymatt).  However, Child Profile titles were listed with 'Naval Criminal Investigative Service' included in the title of each Child Profile (discs 1 through 6).  None of the other seasons of NCIS have 'Naval Criminal Investigative Service' included in the Child Profile disc titles so I shortened mine so it would be consistent with the Child Profile titles of Seasons 1 through 7, and decided to contribute the shortened Child Profile titles so Season 8 would be consistent with all the other seasons of NCIS.  So far I've been told that the way Season 8 Child Profile titles were initially contributed were as per rules.  If Season 8 Child Profile titles, as initially contributed, are in fact as per rules, then why have the Child Profile titles been approved throughout the 7 years that Seasons 1 through 7 Child Profiles were contributed?

I have changed/shortened mine in my own database so that the Child Profile titles are consistent with all the other seasons of NCIS.  Unless and/or until there is consistency for NCIS Child Profile titles within the DVD Profiler database, MY database will remain consistent.

If my contributions are in fact incorrect as per rules, then I will withdraw them, but MY database for NCIS Seasons 1 through 8 will remain consistent until there is consistency throughout the DVD Profiler database for this series.      -kd5-

Consistency is not a factor when it comes to how they are set up in the main DB.  If 'Naval Criminal Investigative Service' is printed on the disc/case, that is the correct title.  If NCIS is printed on the disc/case, that is the correct title.

Edit: I just had a look at the profiles for seasons 1 through 7 and the child profiles are, indeed, entered incorrectly.  Since it looks like they are not individually packaged, the title should match the parent.  Why they were accepted without 'Criminal Investigative Service' included is anybody's guess, but they should be corrected.

There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Right...

I even went ahead and checked all my sets... and all cases (both inner cases and outer cases) include "Naval Criminal Investigative Service" which is the correct per rules way for the online database.

All the other profiles need to be corrected. Not changing correct profile to match the incorrect ones. You don't add incorrect (per rules) data to the database just because it is the less amount of work that needs to be done.

Your contributions to the season 8 child profiles should be withdrawn

I've withdrawn my contributions.  I wish I had the time to make those changes myself but even on my days off I'm working on computers or spending time with my wife.  I'm leaving my database as is for the time being.        -kd5-
