Ok, somebody explain to poor dumb Parsec how reviews work please.

Are reviews just that rating bar thing for movie/disc? Are they only applicable to that EAN/UPC? Other then the Invelos guidelines - which just confused me the more I read about reviews, is there any sort of guideline for how you determine "out of 5" on the bars? Like is there any sort of common sense guideline based on features etc for the disc which are taken into account for the review.

Heck I really don't understand it. Someone enlighten me.

The bars, as I understand it, are simply your personal opinion of the film/disc out of 5.

Yeah but that gets me as kinda odd. i can understand movie out of 5, because you watch it and rate what you thought of it. But the dvd? Well it's round and shiny and.. wait.. they are all round and shiny....

So I was just wondering if the rating was due to some more tech aspects, like sound quality, video quality, extra features and that kind of stuff.

And for "submitting" them, do you just rate it and then just submit? What happens if you want to change your rating?

And like say theres heaps of copies to "Movie A" in the database (different upc's etc), does the rating only refer to your particular one or is it linked somehow for the movie?

Again, it's based on your personal criteria.  There are no rules that I am aware of.  So you can rate based on special features, number and quality of audio tracks, quality of transfer, etc.

For submitting, you select Online->Contribute Review.  Since I don't read or use them, I haven't really used it much, so I am not sure about changing them.

I believe, since there is an option for rating the DVD, it is linked to that particular release.
