So should we give this movie plain color, or mixed? It's about 50% color and 50% black/white this movie. Any thoughts about that due to the color balance in this movie.

Huh, interesting, I haven't seen the film but looking at some of the shots here it looks like it has been desaturated rather than just plain black and white. Which still makes it color I think.

Correct observation.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Yea, I never thought of it as black and white.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Color, just stylized and very desaturated color.

Am I the only one who gets nervous when watching a movie and it starts switching from B&W to color now? I kinda don't like that new field, I was too busy counting B&W time to fully enjoy Bunraku last night (or maybe cuz the movie kinda sucked, I started counting, not sure).

I was watching To Be or Not to Be the other day. When it switched to black & white, I instinctively starting counting.

Form of Color? Yes, but so is Sepia and (single-tone) Tinted, what is considered B&W by the Contribution Rules. I dug out "Sky Captain..." a few days ago, because I remembered that something was off (besides the movie itself *g*). But scanning through the movie with VLC was pretty odd – the whole movie is shot in color, but was afterwards color "corrected" (desaturized Blue, using a digital filter), and appears in Sepia tones, except for the obvious red tones, that appear through the movie, and wouldn't be there in plain Sepia.

Technically it's not color, as it lacks one base color (doesn't even really matter if RGB or CMY set up), and it's not B&W or single-color tinted. But it even doesn't seem to be "colorized" (adding color where no color has been shot), because we can't tell if it has been completely desaturised and re-colored (but with only two of three base colors), or if they used a strong single-color filter. It's as odd (and annoying ) as the film itself...

Technically it is color, since it lacks "one" base color.

I would say it's not missing "one" color.  It's just been very toned down.  If it was missing entirely, things would look off.  I know.  I currently have one set that needs repair because it has no blue in it.  Things most definitely do NOT look sepia on the set.

I'd say both are color.

Same as Book of Eli if I recall correctly, stylized color.
