I have a discussion in Europe if in a box with childfilms in the box itself videoformats may be contributed. F.e. Widescreen or the resolution 1.78:1. Until now I know we left it empty. Now we have the case that somebody likes to put Color in there. As on all boxes videoformats it is empty my opinion is, also color has nothing to do in the box itself, a film resp. child has color or b/w but not the box. As far as I see rules are not exact about the videoformats in boxes. How do you apply this?

| | Posted: | | | | As far as I know, you can only put the Video Formats information into the parent if it matches ALL of the child profiles. Movies usually vary in ratio, so it's not uncommon to have to leave it out. |

| | Posted: | | | | I said we CAN include it as long as all the movies match. Obviously you can't contribute a 2.35:1 aspect ratio AND a 1.78:1 for a Box Set.
(And surely that quote only refers to colour?)

What has a box? It has a Rating and Country origine, a total Running Time, a Release Date, an SRP, Genres, Media Studios who sell the box but no Studios. Then an Overview and Scans of the Box. This is it.
All film releated things like Studios, Videoformats, Color, Audio Tracks and Subtitles, Disc Info belong to the corresponding Child Profile and have nothing to do in the Box Profile.
Looking at this in my opinion the flag Color has nothing to do in the Box. But some did put it now or will do it and I like to be sure I vote after the rules. So, do we put the flag Color in a Box or not?

Depends on the films in the boxset...
Mixed = B&W and Color within a single film
Color = all films in set is color
