Right now, I have probably 100+ titles where the digital copy is checked on both the Blu-ray parent profile and, when it's contained on the DVD child profile, checked there as well. So, should it be checked in the parent profile or be left off when it's also contained on a child profile? |

| | Posted: | | | | For the question at hand, they're on the DVD itself. I know for DC on a separate disc, it'd be checked in the parent profile but wasn't sure about if it's a DVD/DC combo. In all the profiles I have (mainly Warner Brothers releases), the DC would be checked in the Blu-ray parent profile as well as the DVD child profile. |

| | Posted: | | | | We need to remember that in the case where you have multiple media types of the same movie in the same release such as a BD/DVD combo. The DVD child profile is optional and many people do not download them. I personally like them, but many do not.
So in these cases it seems to me that the DC really needs to be in the parent. As for in both the parent and DVD child where the DC exists on the DVD Disc I could go either way. It seems valid to me since it is on that profiled disc and it is an optional child profile. |

For these I don't keep child profiles as I'm more trying to track how many different movies I have, not how many versions I got in one package. I also think digital copies are a waste of time and plastic, so when they are on the dvd disc at least that limits the waste. Being of a collector mentality, I can't throw out the DC discs I don't want or use though.  If anyone loves digital copies and sees something in my collection with one that hasn't expired yet, PM me and I'll hook you up with the code. I'll never use any of them.  |

| | Posted: | | | | Another benefit of combo packs cropped up for me recently: buying a movie for my niece and nephew, I didn't know if they had a Blu-ray player, so got the combo pack. No muss; no fuss. Christmas, we took our newly acquired copy of A Christmas Carol (Alastair Sim version) to my sister's to watch--good thing the DVD was present, since she is, er, "Blu-less."  |
