Good afternoon, Sirs,

I'm unsure about this credit:

Should it, according to The Rules, be entered as "James Horner [as James Ho??e?]"?

CLT: James Horner 257 titles
James Ho??e? 0 titles

Love, bbbbb

It might be worse than that.

The A & M in JAMES as well as the HO at the start of HORNER might be flipped around the vertical access as well.
====================

I'd just credit James Horner and not worry about somebody creating titles and having fun with Fonts.

Agreed. Also opens up a can of worms. Still, how dare these studios not take DVDP into consideration when doing these titles. The gull.

I agree with the others, it's just a specialty font someone is using. It's is still accessed using the same keystrokes as the normal looking letters or it could be what they call an alternate character. Bottom line is it's still James Horner.

Side note: Check out what tweeter's bold letters say.

But they aren't. Fact is that ? as well as ? are Cyrillic letters, used in a movie where a Russian policeman chases a Georgian drug dealer, with Red Square setting during the Cold War.

Why again shouldn't we "list names exactly as they are in the credits" here?

You asked for suggestions and advice.  I provided some.  I didn't answer in order to debate such a petty thing.  If you wanted a debate you should have phrased your OP in that form instead of asking for suggestions.  I could have ignored the silliness.

I see mirror image R's.  It's just a cute font.  Were it me i would submit "Horner".

For starters: because DVD Profiler can't handle cyrillic.
Secondly: The cyrillic letters are, obviously, used as a layout gimmick, Horner transcripted into cyrillic would look quiet different.

Exactly this...plus what tweeter said.

2012, and Profiler still does not support Russian? I waive the question. Until then it's certainly better to replace the Russian characters with similar looking Latin characters than with question marks.

Yeah, I don't see the title in the thread.  But I have seen quite a few movies where,  because the setting is in Russia they think it is cute to reverse all the R's and N's in the beginning credits.  But usually the end credits are done correctly.

Which movies? I've never seen individual Russian characters used like this before.

Unfortunatley neither a James Horner nor a James Ho??e? is mentioned in the end credits. And the opening credits in the movie aren't done incorrectly only because DVD Profiler can't handle UTF.

I believe "Red Heat".  Which I think this clip is from if I recognize the screen cap correctly.  Check all the main credits.  See if they do the same with other names.
