Just went to update Profiles today, one of the updates was the aforementioned King Tut's Tomb/Merlin's Apprentice Double Feature.  Apparently, the new Profile update would have eliminated all of the Cast/Crew info and most of the other details for this profile.  I skipped that update, I like having Cast/Crew information, but I'm wondering why in the world someone would contribute a profile update which completely eliminates the existing Cast/Crew information, and why the powers-that-be would allow that update to finalize?

Just curious.  As I said, I skipped/am ignoring that update, I like having Cast/Crew information in this instance.      -kd5-

Looks like this profile was updated to meet box-set rules. As such the Cast and Crew information belongs only in the child profiles for the individual movies.

That is a profile I did myself. I fixed the profile so it is per the rules. Any disc with 2 movies... one on each side of the disc is considered a box set per Rules. So I created the child profiles for each movie by disc ID and deleted all info from the parent profile that the rules says not to be there.

With mine, this double feature is part of a 4-film Collection, 2 double features.  I currently have each double feature as having its own individual number, but counted as 2 titles in my collection.  2 double features, 2 numbers in my collection, each double feature counted as 2 titles.  Downloading child profiles for one of them would make it lopsided, I would want to give each movie it's own number, which would be nice, but the other double feature (The Poseidon Adventure/Blackbeard) in this 4-film Collection has no child profiles so it would still be just one number, counted as 2 titles.  Now if someone came up with child profiles for the other double-feature, that would resolve all issues, but until someone does, I think I'll leave mine as is, without any child profiles.  If I knew how to create child profiles and had the time to list all the cast/crew, I would, but I don't and I don't.  So again, I think I'll just leave it as is without child profiles for now.  At least I understand now what was going on, sorry for being a PITA...         -kd5-

I didn't get the 4 movie set... I just got the double feature DVD. If I did get the 4 pack I would have done all four movies. But I can't... sorry.

Next time I hit wal-mart I'll see if they have it. I don't know why but I enjoy the Bad B-movies. Especially The Asylum releases. VFX by Juggernaut

I just ordered The Poseidon/Blackbeard off of Amazon Marketplace. Once it arrives I will be able to break those up in a box set as well.

I also ordered a similar set with 4 movies from the same company.. Disaster: Collector's Set: 4 Films. which needs a lot of work done to it's profiles. This set includes...

CRASH LANDING
NATURE UNLEASHED: AVALANCHE
NATURE UNLEASHED: EARTHQUAKE
NATURE UNLEASHED: FIRE

So will have plenty to do once they all arrive.

I've got all 4 of those movies. 3 in a 6 movie set and Crash Landing in a 3 movie set.

Hope they are good. Though I can't complain... got the set cheap ($1.49 @ Amazon Marketplace). Not bad for 4 movies.

Child profiles for the above have been accepted and released. Parent profile is up for vote now.

I have suspicions that my release for this one is a re-release... so I just made manual profiles child profiles per movie locally only for this one.

There's gonna be amny more cases like this with Echo Bridge doing their Miramax sets, usually starting with a single movie, then a 2 pack, then a 3 pack, then a 5 pack. Same thing with Lions Gate and their 6, 8 and 10 movie collections, some are just old dvds repacked in a new set.
Basicly if anything comes out on a cheap label like EB, don't buy it! Within a few weeks a set with sequels for the same price will be everywhere (see From Dusk Till Dawn, Children of the Corn 2 and up, Hellraiser sequels). This goes for dvd and blu-ray.

I probably would have made manual profiles anyway.... 2 movies per each side of a disc. I usually do a profile per movie on that type of release.

In these cases I usually make a real profile for each disc, then submit them to the db and delete from my collection. Then I'll find solo dvds for each (or create a new one if none exist), lock em tight and change whatever needs to be changed to match what I have for my local, never submitting anything else for them. I also prefer to have a profile for each film, but these sets are making it more complicated.

I usually do the same thing... but looking at the cover and such I believe I have a re-release... so not doing it this time. I usually find the solo DVDs as well... but instead of locking it after my changes... I just change the UPC code to "M"... which when used automatically uses the next number of manual profile.

Never heard of the "M" trick. Do you still get updates when available for the solo discs if you use that? Even though I lock everything, I'll check out the updates as common names change and what-not, so I like to be able to see them and enter manually if they check out.

Nope... that is a downside of it... it becomes a manual profile only.
