Ok I need pepole to go look at this contribution I made.

I made it as a stand alone release.  But I could see how it could be considered a box set with child profiles.

I need some opinions on whether I should leave it alone or add the child profiles

Are these actual shorts, or TV cartoons?  If shorts, I might consider going Box Set, treating each disc as a 'Main Feature' made up of shorts.  Unfortunately, the rules don't mentions shorts...except in the overview section.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.

We will teach it to them again.

I am still watching the set, but so far it is like hte shorts that they used to show in theatres before the main features.  But many of these were chopped up later on so we all could see them on as TV cartoons growing up...showing my age lol

Thats partially why i could see it done either way That was also why I was asking for any opinions.

For now I wil leave it as I contributed it as a feature with 3 discs and no child profiles.  Once I get through watching it I may have a different opinion.

Hopefully more will chime in and if there is a concensus one way or another  I can either leave it be or fix it.  But I Think how I contributed it is the safest way for now.

To me, the fact that they were made for the big screen doesn't matter. The layout of the discs is like a TV show. Submit it with all information in the main profile and optional child profiles.

And for what it's worth, I've not seen one collection of theatrical shorts set up as a box set profile with empty parent profile. Most of them don't have child profiles.

So like a TV series.

I pulled a few down and they had Disc Info in the parent as well as the DISC ID based children

If it is Ok with everyone I will wait to add hte children until after the current contribution is released.

I have a lot of changes in this one that would have to go to the children and it would be easier to add the children by cloning that one

Bringing up this topic for discussion again about releases that are a collection of short films.  Recently I made a contribution to the Three Stooges Collection Volume One which includes all their short films from 1934-1936.  I profiled the shorts to the parent however I received a no vote that these are considered box sets and this topic had already been decided in the forum.  I couldn’t find the discussion that the member had mentioned and this was the closest topic I could find on short films.

I went ahead and downloaded the child profiles for this release.  However it currently is a mixed bag.  The main profile already contains features, audio tracks and other profiled data that normally is not added to the parent. “In addition to the above, the following are not included on the box set profile: Subtitles, Audio & Disc Features. List them with the individual profiles.”

Also, there is a complete collection that includes all 8 volumes and is using the parent profiles (UPCs) of the individual volumes.

Personally I can see the advantage of using the TV series rules as some users want child profiles and others do not.  But, before I resubmit my contribution I want to make sure which way this should be contributed as a strict “Box Set” or are TV series rules okay for these types of collections.

Same content spread across several discs. Not available separately.

Not a boxed set.
99.9% of all cat plans consist only of "Step 1."

I wish they (Ken & Gerrie)would update the rules, for theatrical shorts. IMO shorts should be treated like TV DVD sets, with the optional child profile, since these were the TV episodes of their time, since kids went to the theater and saw these before "A" picture. Also since they were moved to TV after theaters stopped airing these.
We're on a mission from God.
