Allow the inclusion of alternative covers. When a user downloads a profile for a DvD with a re-release. They will be prompted to select a cover which is applicable to the release they have.

It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

From "Feature Request" Forum:
Ability to have multiple cover-art attached to each profile

Thanks. I think the further time goes on the more it will be ridiculous having DvD artwork that went out of print ten years ago. Still being used as the mandatory cover scan. A solution must be found soon, by that i mean within the next year.

For that we need solidarity amongst users to get consensus on how to resolve this. Rather than bouts of brow beating by though's who deem them self lord and master over the database, and all it's affairs.

While I see the use of multiple cover-art, I don't see how the users could resolve anything here.
Either Invelos implements this feature, or they don't. We can ask for it, but not more (sadly).

Something like this can only come from a program change. So all we can do is let Ken know how much we want a solution to this... and hope he will put it in an update before too long. I have always supported this... and will continue to. But other then that we can't do anything other then wait for Ken to decide to do something about it.

Yes that was what i was talking about was forming a constructive consensus on what us, Invelos customers. Would like to see them implemented in future updates.

Im willing to pay a small fee if required to get the changes done.

This is old news and belongs in the Feature Request Forum. For now it is what it is and we can only deal with Original release covers not re-releases. Keep your fingers crossed.

I want this option also, but for now gallery and locks work fine. For most of the titles I have with re-issue covers, I'll scan em myself or check the rerelease cover thread and then lock those in my local. Just have to remember not to include covers if I audit anything else. I usually notice this after the first try when I see the different covers, then re-sub and remember to uncheck the cover box. For some others I like the original art so much better I leave it.

While I'd like to see the feature added, it's not make-or-break for me.  If my artwork differs from the online, I usually drag the covers to the Gallery, scan my own for the local cover art and lock it down.  (As BDH also said, some users share their scans online, and that's a great option, too--though one I haven't used personally.)

All in all, I'd rather see the Cast and Crew handling fixed.

This is a good idea.

But the cover change should involve all the other differences of the releases, eg DVD Release, Case Type...

Is it technical difficult to overcome the One-UPC-Per-Locality restriction?

The technical difficulty or ease is Ken's issue to deal with not ours, we don't do the programming. We have to deal with whatever limtations the program has within a given release. If and when the situation changes, which I support, btw, then we have a game for now the discussion is simply academic and belongs in the Features Forum

Maybe I missed it, but I don't believe I have seen anybody say this was a bad idea.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

They haven't my little green  and black friend, lol.  It is however quite silly I think to discuss possible solutions to something WE can't address, Ken does the programming. I learned long agon that if and when Ken chooses to fix this popular issue he will do it in the way that he believes is best.
