Alphabet Marathon: The Unwatched Version
I was looking over my Unwatched DVD collection... and was surprised to see I have 877 movies in my collection that I haven't watched yet. There is some titles that I have seen the movie... but not since getting the DVD.

I also noticed that I have something for almost every letter. So I thought this would be a perfect time to start an Alphabet Marathon. This isn't a marathon I expect to have done in a weekend of course... not even in a week. But I do want to try to have it completed before I start my annual Horror marathon in October.

For those that are not familiar an Alphabet Marathon is one where I watch a single movie for (starting with a number) every letter in the alphabet. In this case... they will all be movies from my unwatched collection.  For most letters I have plenty of titles to choose from. There is 2 or 3 letters that I only have one movie for... but that just makes my decision that much easier.

But... Like I said... I have everything covered except 1 letter. That is the letter X. So I am hoping I will get that taken care of before I get to it.

27 Dresses is a cute movie, but very much a chick flick. I know when I watched it, I enjoyed it mainly because I kept on going, "I wore that!" But it is very lighthearted and fun. The ending scene makes the movie for me because I think it's every bridesmaid's dream to do that to the brides for their own wedding.

My Thoughts:
Before watching this movie I searched some reviews to see what others thought of it. I was actually surprised... seems like most people didn't care for this one. Until today I just remembered hearing good things. Then I actually watched it. I wouldn't say I disliked it as much as most the people seemed to... but it is far from the best movie of it's kind. The effects were definitely cool. But I found for the most part I really didn't care about many of the characters. I also thought it was just too long. I think this is one case where the movie would have been better if they didn't have it at such a length. Over-all I would say it is just an average disaster movie.

Theatrical & Unrated Versions

My Thoughts:
I felt like something fun and completely silly next... yes even to the point of the crude and the sick. And much like the first two... this has all of the above. There was more then one laugh in this movie for me... but at the same time some things went a little far for my taste. But of course that could be because I watched the Unrated version instead of the theatrical release... which is also on this disc. Over-all I enjoyed this movie. But I know it is definitely not for everyone. It is one I am sure some would find offensive.

Expecting his soul mate, he opens the door and finds himself face-to-face with Charlene (Latifah) — a wild and crazy soul sister who's just escaped from prison and wants Peter to clear her name. My Thoughts:
I decided to watch this one next because today (8/14) is Steve Martin's 66th birthday. So wanted to watch something with him in it I haven't seen before... this was the only thing I had left that I haven't watched yet. It isn't a bad comedy... but there really isn't anything special about it either. I would say it is worth watching... but at the same time it isn't something I see watching very often. Over-all just an average comedy with a couple chuckles in it.

Not to influence you, but could use a new profile update for Con Express or Code Hunter, they are lacking.

Scratch Con Express, I just put up a new contribution.

I briefly looked at all the profiles as I got the movies. But there is certain things I don't touch. Things like Crew and studios I leave to people with better knowledge in those areas then I have. Especially with the way the crew rules are... and the way the forum goes on about crew data.

This is the first time I ever seen Cellular. It is one of the many movies that were given to me this past year. This one I actually enjoyed quite a bit. Kept my interest from beginning to end. Some pretty good action and chase scenes. If you haven't had the chance to do so yet... I would say it is definitely worth checking out... I recommend it.

Drag Me to Hell

I liked "Drag Me to Hell". I own the Blu-ray Unrated Director's Cut. I've always liked Sam Raimi and, although this film got mixed reviews, I think he did a fairly decent job here. Lots of scares (more startles...than scares really) and gory effects .
