I recently purchased all four Alien movies on Blu-Ray and had a question regarding the UPC not being in the DVD Profiler system. That question was answered, but there was a question regarding the Alien Anthology box set that I didn't think applied because, well, I bought the discs separately and so didn't have the anthology.

Now that I've added the movies by Disc ID and added the UPC codes for Alien, Alien3, and Alien Resurrection (Aliens had the correct image and info already), I see that those three Disc IDs also correspond to the Alien Anthology set, but the new individual movies all have different covers. All the information seems to be the same other than the release date, there being an actual UPC on each movie, and the type of case. Should I upload the new images or leave them as is in the system and only use the cover images I have locally?

Should I go through and make completely new entries for these even though the Disc IDs are the same?

It's basically first come first serve in instances like this. If the Disc ID's are identical to an earlier release, you should keep your cover images local.

Of course, if the releases you have have a UPC on the4 backcover you can change the Disc-ID to the UPC and you have a profile which can be contributed.

Yeah, no reason you shouldn't be able to use the UPC codes. You could even start with the disc ID's and use the accepted info from those profiles, then change the UPC to what the individual discs have.

There's tons and tons of dvds in the system that share disc ID, but have come out under different UPC's. For the longest time, most studios starting making different UPC's for rental discs, then less content for the rentals. Factor in re-issues (sometimes bringing a new UPC, sometimes not), Candian versions (often same disc ID as US, but different packaging) and disc ID's can have many UPC's.

You could include the stand-alone releases with their UPCs, I don't believe that the disc ID would have any iompact relative to data or images as long as the Anthology is listed by Disc ID and proper imagery and the stand alones are under their given UPC.
ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!!
