| | Posted: | | | | Hey everyone... I wanted to mention as it is getting a lot of yes votes. Even from some prominent members. Please know I am not blaming anyone as I am sure it is just an error. But I am the only no vote so far. and I don't want to see wrong info go in just to have to be changed again. The TV Series volume sets of The Addams Family (US R1) are being changed to TV-G which is incorrect... here is an example of how all three look on the back of the case....  Notice it clearly marked Not Rated... and no TV-G anywhere. Granted there is both Canadian G ratings... but that is not the same thing as TV-G... matter of fact they are not even US ratings for the US profiles. | | | | Pete |

| | Posted: | | | | One other thing to be careful of which has caught me is that since the rating can be encoded on the disc and a lot of authoring software seems to default to "G" if you don't manually set it. A quick check shows The Addams Family is one of those titles if you try to check the rating using software. |

Use the Rating shown on the DVD cover, with the following constraints:
* For localities which offer it as a choice, enter "Unrated" for DVDs which:
o Contain an alternate version of a film which received a theatrical rating, and which have no rating or are marked "NR" or "Not Rated"
o OR include "Unrated" on the front or back cover of the case
* Use "NR" for DVDs which do not qualify for the "Unrated" rating, and which have no rating or are marked "NR" or "Not Rated"
* Use the “Adult” rating for all Adult films.
For DVDs with more than one rating shown (e.g. a DVD which includes an R and Unrated version), use the highest applicable rating with the following scale:

Shows being released on DVD, that were created prior to that date, won't usually have a rating as they aren't required to be rated for home video release.
