Hello,

first: sorry for my english, it's not the best but I hope you unterstand my problem.

I have some problems with the (first; 2003) german release of the second season of Babylon 5. Disc 2 to 6 exists as seperate child-profiles.

Actual in the database:

+ Babylon 5: Season 2    UPC:    7321921241680
|- Babylon 5: Season 2  Disc 2    Disc-ID: 02E9356EC41FEECD
|- Babylon 5: Season 2  Disc 3    Disc-ID: CEFDC45450DFD376
|- Babylon 5: Season 2  Disc 4    Disc-ID: 550ED0C5F3CE5D22
|- Babylon 5: Season 2  Disc 5    Disc-ID: 1B10BDB5711B2A21
|- Babylon 5: Season 2  Disc 6    Disc-ID: 9A65B05CFEE05638

Disc 1 exists not as a childprofile.... Why not? I asked myself.
|- Babylon 5: Season 2  Disc 1    Disc-ID: D8D0537BC5BC58DA

And now my problem: Disc 1 is blocked by another (later; 2005) release of Babylon5:
Babylon 5 Collector's Box UPC 7321921739934

Second problem: This is the complete Season 2! With the disc-ID of Disc1

In this collector's box every Season or film ist listed as a childprofile. They haven't a own UPC, the seasons are in the database with the Disc-ID of the first Disc, the same Disc as "my" first release.

What's the correct way? My release is the first, I would change the later release, which Disc-ID can I use?

Thanks a lot.

See here.

Ironically, that season set you're talking about was the one I first noticed that this problem exists.

I've been living with the first come, first serve rule ever since.

There is no first come first served rule, there is a first release rule.  If the 2003 release for this disc ID is the first release it wins even if the disc ID has a 2005 release data.

You just have to make sure your contribution notes are clear.  The users with the complete set will need to profile using all disc IDs if they want complete series data.

...

Sorry, but a really dumb solution.
Such profiles are just useful for this single entry. But Disc Id profiles with just the entry of what is on the special disc are useful for all parent profiles it's included.
All information could be handled with the single disc entries.

Btw, was this ever stated it's Ok to enter it this way?

That's what I also have in mind.

Removing audio and subtitles from the child profie is invalid.

Since audio and subtitles are on the disc, this info belongs also in the profile. The reason for disc profiles is to have the informations for the content of the disc.
