I don't think it is good enough that we go to the trouble of contributing DVD profiles only to have them declined without a reason. If there is a problem with the data that is submitted we should be notified and given a chance to rectify it. Maybe it was revised on a Friday at 5pm!! I have paid for this site and have submitted a few DVD profiles, most of which were accepted but I have one in my list that has been declined and I don't know why. I have several DVD's in my collection that are not in the database and I would hate to think that someone's contribution was knocked back affecting my ability to enter my DVD's into my collection without a problem.

1) What UPC are you referring to (perhaps someone can look at the submitted notes and see what the problem is)?

2) Did you get any no votes from people that voted on the submission?  Were they valid and did you make any corrections based on those votes?
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

UPC = 9317731078385 - Australian release of 'Rescue Me'

I have never received votes (yes or no) on any contibution that I know of but MOST contributions have been accepted.

Why are we not notified of the reason for declined contributions ?

This site relies on contributions from members. Even if they have errors, it makes it easier for me to enter a DVD into my collection if it is in the database - for insurance purposes

I looked at the profile, and your submission notes.

I am not familiar with Australian releases.

At first glance, it would appear to have the proper scan and origin.  The Profile has the ean that you gave us.

What exactly were you trying to change?  There was a submission (new) the day before.  Did you have the updated profile from the online?

I do not know why they did not approve it, but I know that if I look at mine, I can usually determine why it was declined.  I make the correction and resubmit.

Can you give us more info?

Australian releases are no different from USA UK NZ etc releases. My submission note tells what I did and it is what I have done in the past.

I am not trying to change anything. I am trying to submit a profile that reflects the Australian issue of this DVD.

What more info can I give? I do not know why it was declined - hence this thread. That is why I am calling for the decline reason to be made so we can correct it.

It seems that someone already did what you were trying to do.  That may be why it was declined...because there were not changes.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

I should have left it for a while longer then!

Can I submit that we should be notified on the DVD Contribution, next to the word DECLINED the reason that it was declined. I can handle being told there was already a submission the day before that obviously would not be active. I should not have to come into the Forums and ask.

Thank you

End of thread.

I gotta agree with Floyd, though, that any time there's not a clear majority of "no" votes (or in my case, 5 yes votes and 0 no votes) the screeners should be compelled to provide a reason for declining a contribution.
