Set an image for the custom media type under Tools->Edit Media Types on desktop and it will appear on the iOS version.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes I did that when I first created the Media Types and the logos show up fine in the desktop version but blank on the iPad. These are in jpeg format is there a particular size/format that has to be adhered to. Thanks VirusPil for the link.

There was a bug in the first release that caused the icons to not come over correctly. I think if you went into DVD Profiler on the desktop and editted the categories and just reselected the images again, the next time you synched, it worked. It was a different issue, but it might be worth a try to see if it works.

Gerri

No joy, not only did I reselct the current images I tried changing to a different image and I even tried editing the profile to change some info to make sure the upload was working properly. The images do not appear but the other changes I made did. Open for suggestions.

Tom

P.S. The HD DVD logo which was missing from the first release is now there, so it recognizes that one OK.

Are you using images in DVD Profiler or ones of your own? If you are using ones of your own, could you email them to me? If you are using built in ones, can you let me know which ones and I will try it here.

Hi

Are there images somewhere in DVD Profiler for Laserdisc and DVD-Audio? If so where are they?

Tom

P.S. I emailed you my images, I have a feeling that they are going to be the problem.

I concur with what Gerri said. In 1.01, my custom categories had no icon, except a generic one. After synching afresh my whole database (create a new empty database and sync), I got my icons showing same as my desktop.

Hi,

Apologies for not posting this in "Technical Support" but having spent the morning reading existing posts this is the closest thread to my problem that I could find.

Until I tried setting local icons for my couple of non-standard media types in DVDP desktop, these media types displayed perfectly in browse on my DVDP iTouch. Now post synch these custom media types have dissappeared from browse, although the records appear OK in my collections lists.

The desktop version doesn't seem to care in which folder local media type icons are located; is there a prefered path/file location/image format so that my icons will transfer when synched?

Would it be prefereable to use an Invelos icon such as the ones offered under Custom Collection Categories. If so, where are they located and can they be pointed point at?

Failing all, how can I get back to the default (three overlapping discs) icon for my orphan media? Suppose I shouldn't have "played" until v.1.1

Advice appreciated, thanks,
Liz

Solved it myself. The image files need to be png; jpegs won't work. I also put the image files in C:\Program Files\DVD Profiler\Media, but not sure if that is necessary.

Cheers,
Liz

Yea that's what I wound up doing also (I probably should have updated this post). Once I switched them over to PNG's they worked great.
