Hello,

I've seen that sometimes people vote on my contributions (mostly positive, sometimes negative).
I wonder why they do that.  Does this serve to anyone or anything.  And how can they see my contribution when it's even not released?

If you upload your collection you can vote on peoples contributions for titles you own before they are released. This is so that you can give your opinion on if the contribution follows the poorly worded guidelines. Simply upload your collection, and click database above to vote on pending updates for titles in your collection.

The acceptance of your contribution to the main database is, in part, determined by how folks vote.  If people are voting no, you might want to look into it because there's a reasonable chance you've done something wrong and the contribution will be declined.

Since Invelos don't have the discs in hand to check and be sure your contribution follows their RULES.. they depend on other users to let them know if it follows the rules or not. People are supposed to vote per these rules... though it don't always work out that way. I definitely seen people vote for info they prefer over what the rules say to do.

You wrote exactly why the voting process is useless since the most vocal users can do whatever they want in their contributions...

I find that, for the most part, contributors and voters follow the guidelines invelos has in place.

If I receive a "no" vote I always double check my contribution. In most cases it is a mistake on my part which I then correct.

In the very rare instance in which I do not agree with the "no" voter, I send them a pm explaining my rationale and why I feel my contribution is correct.

If I feel my contribution is correct, I will also edit my contribution notes to provide clarification.
