The numeric-only keyboard does not have a decimal, nor a return key.  So, we use the one with numbers and punctuation in most numeric cases, except for UPC.

Most apps auto add the decimal point automatically ( 1999 = 19.99 ) and use done as return

Not true, the Lose It app has a number pad with a decimal button. Though it doesn't have a return key... instead it has a delete key. They use a "done" at the top of the screen to complete typing.

For UPC entries the number only keyboard would be ok. No need for decimal point there.
