Hello Everybody

I have the following problem: Since I updated today to version 3.7 dvdp does not start. Only the window "updating database" opens, bur nothing is happening. Before updating I was able to run dvdp and work with it, but updating the database didnt work for a few weeks. Also a few movie icons where not showed properly (just red frame). Before all those problems dvdp run just fine on my 64 bit surface.

Can anybody give me some advice?
Thanx

This is generally the sign that your database needs a repair

program files/DVD Profiler/DVDProDBRepair.exe

I've the same problem.

Database-Repair does not change anything.

when i'll add some dvd the programm displayes that error :

"This file format is newer than this version of DVD Profiler ..."    ---- But i've the latest version.  !!!
there is no listing of dvd-titles.

When I cancel is there the next error :

Access violation at adress 00479909 in module DVDPRO.EXE. Read at adress 00000004

Then I must kill the programm with the taskmanager.

I can not downgrade to version 3.6.1 ??!!!  that version works without any database-error.

greets

Nova

Try the following:

Go to

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\DVD Profiler
in XP or

C:\Users\<username>\Roaming\AppData\DVD Profiler (<- not sure about this)

in Vista/7 and rename OnlineList.dod and OnlineListSel.dod to OnlineList.dod.old and OnlineListSel.dod.old and try again.

After deleting the OnlineListeSel.dod in the directory, the programm is downloading the 10 parts of the profilelist.

Many Thanks DJ Doena !!!

I had the same problem and am running the Repair Utility now.  I am concerned, though, as the log states that several of my records were fixed, but physically deleted... sample:

"Error rebuilding index keys for physical record # 4158, error fixed but physical record deleted"

It looks like 8-10 records fell under this.  Does this mean that I lost some of my catalogued DVD's and I will need to restore my last backed up database?

No, you will have lost nothing. I had this happening more than once. If your pc unexpectedly reboots with DVDPro running, and you run a db repair afterwards, this can happen.

I never lost any data by running a repair.

Indeed, Laura Harring can be my arm candy anytime

We are blessed with a very nice film festival where it's actually easy to get a photograph with the guests.
