I know that I usually am the one to say: "Enter what you see" ... I think I just reached the limits of this approach.
The cover is from the German release for "Despicable Me" the German title is "Ich - einfach unverbesserlich". On the cover we see " ICH EI CH UVEI RLICH" and a (assumed) tagline "Ein Dieb wird lieb".
I know what I would enter, just not what I should.

Heeeeelp!
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I'd say "Ich - einfach unverbesserlich" but that's just my "don't overthink it" approach

This can obviously be carried to extremes.

The Title is

"Ich einfach unverbesserlich" (no hyphen, not seen on cover), with what ever would be appropriate for German Capitalization.

^ This and the rules tell us to separate an episode descriptor with a colon and space. So if "einfach unverbesserlich" is an episode descriptor:

Ich: einfach unverbesserlich

While I tend to agree (except for the hyphen), this is a little inconsistent, isn't it?
"Ich einfach unverbesserlich" isn't to be seen on the cover either.

Found another pic that shows the spine too.
There it seems to say "Ich - einfach unverbesserlich"

A bit hard to read.
I think in this case I'd go with the title on the spine (as soon as it's released (Feb. 3rd 2011)

The rules tell us to take it from the front cover and in some cases we're allowed to check the credit block on the back cover.

??
To be consistent you should opt for option "ICH EI CH UVEI RLICH" then.

EDIT: But that's exactly what I meant when I wrote "I know what I would enter, just not what I should" enter.
I really hope that the creditblock will give a decent title.

Ich: einfach unverbesserlich

I don't think it is suppose to be a descriptor

Loosely translated it is

I simply incorrigible
or
I Just incorrigible

or something to that effect...

I think the translation would be more something like:
Me! Simply incorrigible

where I had no probleme also taking the - as separator

It's an UPV (Universal Pictures) title, isn't it? So yes, you will get a decent title: "Despicable Me".

UPV always uses the original title for it's own releases – I'm not sure about the third-party titles, they distribute (or formerly distributed) in D/A/CH for Prokino, StudioCanal (now Kinowelt) or SquareOne Entertainment.

Hooray,
I'm lost

Since the rules explicitly allow only titles from frontcover, and the credit block will name the English original title, this will logically only leave " ICH EI CH UNVEI RLICH" as DVD title. There is no other title to be seen on the frontcover.
The construction of CharlieM, even though it matches my personal preferences, can't be used either, it is nowhere to be found on the frontcover.

I wish the rules would change and the spine would be allowed as a source for the DVD title too.

This was my vote. After all, the rule is the rule, correctness of data has strictly no interest... has it ???

For once I have to agree with your (hopefully ironic) statement, a rule that forces such strange results should be changed.

It has, but we two might differ forever on what is "correct".
In this case we seem to agree though, I'm really looking forward to the "No"-votes when I try to change the DVD title to match the contribution rules.

EDIT: Before the uproar starts: I won't do it, even though it would be the only title the rules currenty allow.
