| | Posted: | | | | ...the responsible persons don't stop to mess around with contributions and even DECLINE fresh(!) submissions of movies.
In general, for every contribution of my bought movies, i am using data of the dvd itself, the dvd cover and the homepage of the distributor. All scans are my own work.
So i added a few movies in the past "Tekken DVD, Roseanne Komplett-Box DVD etc." and a few submissions were declined with this reason:
"Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were non-specific. Please specify the exact source for your changes. (e.g. "Credits from film end credit list", "Previous version UPC#1111111111")"
I want to say, that i received this message after contributing a totally new profile! And of course i had explained the source of my informations.
The most annoying thing is: i am collectiong VERY CAREFULLY informations of my OWNED dvds, contribute this data (a few of them will in general be declined) and get after a profile refresh wrong/bad data.
If this behaviour will not change in the future, i will not contribute any profile anymore and don't download any profile refresh. I will then use DVD Profiler as standalone offline version.

So I just resubmitted it... this time noting the UPC number of the profile I used... and it was approved within minutes (New Submission). | | | | Pete |

I have found that, with a little of thought to detail (not overly so), but trying to cover the majority of sections with a comment
I.E
Cast and crew from opening/closing credits
Disc info via DVD Profiler
Verified Audio/subtitles with PowerDVD
Original Cover Scans
Or
Copied from previously accepted profile (UPC....)
Original scans
Most of the time, the screeners will accept the contribution.
I am sorry that you feel disheartened with the software, but wish you would try anew with a little more thought.

If he is taking cast and crew from the box... then that in itself is the wrong place per rules. The decline note tells what is wrong... you need to be more specific in your notes.. What I do is list all the changes I make... and for each change tell them exactly where I got that info from... as well as what tools I used if needed. | | | | Pete |

If they are "New" submissions we would not see them, and would only see declined submissions if we knew which they were. It would help is he would give us further info. |
