I am profiling a Czech film right now and the titled letter that forms some of the cast names doesn't work in Invelos instead coming across as just a line. How should I approach this?

I would just use the base letter, 'z'.

Yep, that's the best we can do at present. I've had similar problems with Polish names.

Thanks guys.

Yeah, I did a new profile for Operation Daybreak a few days ago, and many of the Actor names and their roles are in Czech. Unfortunately most can't be entered at present exactly as they appear on screen, so the standard letters must be used.

This was for the 1972 film Morgiana (Second Run release). Now all done and submitted.

I had a quick glance in the CLT: it reports, for instance, 174 profiles in the database with "Željko Ivanek" in it, so I wouldn't be too quick in concluding that the program doesn't support it.

If it does, I would definitely like to know how to make that work!
So far, I've been unable to do that.

It doesn't seem let you input that when adding cast / crew to a profile though (at least not me). Like deejay said, if there is a way, I too would love to know!

These are the changes I had no choice but to make (I noted this in notes - left is what I had to use, right how they are credited):
Ivu Janzurovou is actually credited as Ivu Janžurovou
Nina Divísková as Nina Divíšková
Zuzana Fisárková as Zuzana Fišárková
Luka Rubanovicová as Luka Rubanovicová
Václav Vondrácek as Václav Vondrácek
Helena Lisková as Helena Lišková
Zdena Michalicková as Zdena Michalicková
Jarmila Trzická as Jarmila Tržická

I just copied and pasted a number of these examples from your previous post right into a profile in DVD Profiler, and that works just fine. No workarounds or anything. Just paste the name, click "Add cast member", click "OK", and that's it. It does look a tad "off" when entering it, but once you've clicked "OK", you'll find it displays correctly in the profile:

And judging from the CLT (apart from the "Željko Ivanek" example I just gave, the "Nina Divíšková" credit from your list is also already listed in a Czech profile), it also correctly uploads through the contribution system.

Indeed you are right. Thanks and I would imagine a ton of Polish/Czech credit lists are off because of this.

Withdrawn my submission and now correcting.

I've got quite a bit of work cut out for me, too, then...

Many thanks, T!M!

Although doesn't work for c as program recognises that as a normal c so some are still difficult.

That's c with an upside down ^ above it. Changes automatically on forum also.

The upside-down ^ is called a caron.

DVDProfiler is not a unicode application, and it uses a specific set of characters. The set is called the Windows 1252 codepage, and the characters available are listed in the table here.

The mechanisms for entering those characters from the keyboard are listed here, and of course you can use the Character Map application also.

I am not an expert on codepages, character maps, character sets or other things relating to different characters, but I have personally found the above information useful.

This is a great thread, thanks for starting it Sam! I've been meaning to ask this question more than once myself. Mostly in regards to Željko Ivanek, as up until now I thought that Ž was impossible to enter into the program as it gives you this thick vertical line when it appears as you're entering the cast and crew.

Now I know it can be done and submitted correctly, which is great.

I'm also betting that the common name for Željko Ivanek probably is Željko instead of Zeljko as the CLT results would have us believe, mostly because people didn't realize the character was supported.

Might have to start a common name thread!
The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play.
