I have a question regarding the UK Blu-Ray of Rome: The Complete Collection [5051892008440]. Currently it is entered into the DB as a single entry rather than a boxed set with two child discs. This means that only the slip case has been scanned and not the covers from the two seasons (which are different). However, the full cast and crew for all 10 episodes has been entered so it is otherwise complete.

My question is should this be split up and two child discs (or more) added? For example:

1. the Norwegian edition has 2 child discs, one for each season. Each season has its own cover scanned in addition to the slip case.

2. each disc from each season (6 all together I think; I have not counted) added as a child disc, with the appropriate scan from the relevant season's cover. Cast and crew for each episode would be with the child discs and not the Complete Collection.

Ironically #2 is easy to do as each disc is already in the DB. I am not sure why they are not linked to the complete edition as a boxed set. (And yes, I did double check this by trying to add child discs.)

What do people think?

Both methods are permitted according to the Rules, but in this case option 2 must be used because to implement option 1 means overwriting the data on Disc 1 of each seaso and since that data is permitted by the rules overwriting this good data is not permitted.

Sadly this is presently a 'first come wins' situation where some people (like me) prefer to catalogue by season, others down to individual disc and BOTH methods have to use the same disc ID so only one is allowed at a time. Hopefully one day we'll be able to use an additional 'marker' to indicate whether the disc is representing a whole season or just the disc itself
It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong
