The head itself comes in the Box which has a slip cover, the disc's are in a Digipak (with Slip Cover) that is housed in the back of the head so if the box is the parent case then it's "Box, Slip Cover" if the head is the parent case then it's "Custom" also what would the case type be for the child profiles "Digipak" or "Digipak, Slip Cover"

Because the box does not sit on my shelf, for me, the Ape Head is the case, so I have it as 'custom'.  As for the child profiles, Digipak w/slipcover.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

One other thing that maybe of relevance to this is the the EAN is printed on the Box's Slip Cover, don't know if that makes a difference but obviously that is what is used to enter it into the system

Agree with MadMartian; the box is just the delivery packaging to protect the head, the head is the 'case' for me.

To match the case type I believe is correct (though yes, the box could certainly be argued and I'm sure it will be!) I would take a photo of the front and rear of the head.

My I, Robot head also has custom as case type but I think that was contributed before there was a box case type.

For me, the case type of the Ape would be Box with Slip Cover because that's the way it was sold, that's where the UPC is.
It doesn't matter what people do with it afterwards.
There are people who throw away the package of the Lord of the Rings Collector's Edition and just put the figure and the SEE onto the shelf. Or people who even throw away Amaray cases and put the DVD in binders.
But that doesn't mean that these DVDs suddenly become "custom" cased.

This one is confusing.

For the parent I would say that the front/back of the entire box/package would be the artwork. Just like it is for other unique cases such as those plastic head cases for Iron Man, Transformers or Watchmen. Or for the Enterprise case for Star Trek. Those include the box artwork for the case and not the case itself. Just because this one is a box set shouldn't change that.

I just think that the parent artwork should reflect how it is when you buy it in the store and not how you display it at home.

Case type would be custom for the parent.

For the children, well even though the dvds are held in a digipack they are actually put inside of the ape head, So the artwork for the children would be the ape head and the case type would be digipack. This one is similar to the Speed Racer complete set that came in the Mach 5 case. Artwork is the metal case even though the dvds are actually held in a digipack that's put inside the Mach 5.
