| Posted: | | | | Has anyone seen this before?... Tomorrow is Anne Bancroft's birthday... so I was seeing what I have with her in it that I may decide to watch tomorrow... So I filtered on her name... and then clicked on her name as well to bring up her pop-up (I know I didn't have to... just did it for some reason). That is when I noticed the thumbnail for Blazing Saddles is wrong... it is showing a season set of Millennium. But you can see from the image to the right the main pictures are right. Has anyone seen this before... and if so what is the fix? | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks Chris... I went to rebuild Thumbnails... but it was grayed out. I use list view... so changed that to thumbnail view... and was able to select rebuild Thumbnails. It is doing it's thing now. I think if it works... maybe rebuild thumbnails shouldn't be grayed out for list view if it needs to be used for other areas of the program as well. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Addicted2DVD I was going to check your problem out when I first read your first post. Guess what, no Anne Bancroft. I know I have some of her films. I started to check my profiles and no cast or crew credits on any profile, except on the last two profiles I was working on. Over 13,000 profiles and no cast or crew. I guess trying find out what went wrong should keep busy for a while. Fortunately, I hae a backup and all I was working were new profiles and have been approved, so I have not lost much. | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own. | Posted: | | | | My save from last night was at 10:40 and thankfully I was watching my new Blu_ray Fringe and did not do anything until today and was to build child profiles which were contributed and accepted. Well a new layout didn't work nor did repair db. But I did another db I called fugiit and it has casts, but about a couple of weeks old. and the normaL default db can get and display cast and crew it I restore from the on line db. looks like about 88 new profiles are in question from looking at the last edited date. As for restoring from my save last night i will first try that on a brand new blank db. If that looks good I' can rebuild everything. I using 3 db saves, one from Fugit, one from as it is now (Default) and one from last night. At 22.0 G's a save and restore it will just take time. Then compare the three, ha from the point of their differences. It is just a matter of keeping everything straight, ha. | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own. | Posted: | | | | I sincerely hope you'll get it sorted, Srehtims! Losing cast and crew in over 13,000 profiles - sounds like a nightmare! |

A little annoyance, but maybe there's a technical reason. I'm glad it worked. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

That db fugit, well I got all rebuilt, I was fortunate , saved 9/11 was good, and my saves on db default went bad 9/15,so had only 4 days to wory about. I loaded both on-line, copied the lists and into Word. Using db fugit as a base, first I got the ordered lists corrected, 2 ordered but not yet received. 3 moved to owned list. Then from restored db default, (since its profiles from 9/14 on were good) to db fugit 80 profiles I had added since 9/11 (does that date sound familiar). The counts now agree since all profiles added were new or down loaded from the on-line db I was lucky. I was lucky I had an old db that I had while I was trying some things, messing with the count field. I think keep one around just for luck. | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own. Ineptocracy, You got to love it. | Posted: | | | | Great to hear you managed to get it sorted, Srehtims! I reckon this only goes to underline the old "Backup, backup, backup!" mantra. And indeed, weird thing with the date. Take care! DJ |

For the future: Additionally to the actual backup you could also do an XML export. So when you notice something is wrong, it's a lot easier to compare two XML files with a standard file comparer and look where it went all kablooey. You also have a quick way of finding out what you have to re-add or change again. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

Oh, I don't neither, after an hour or so, I gave up and canceled it. I gave up on XMLs after my profile count over 6 or 7 thousand. My total involvement was about 30 minutes. Between the 3 steps I was busy watching the latest copy of Fringe on Blu_ray. After all I have been solving computer problems for over 50 years, hardware, software, firmware, etc. How do I know I'm good, well, I made enough money at it to retire early, buy what ever (dvds I want and sit of my butt and watch them. | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own.
