Is it really necessary to hijack the "Today's Active Topics" with endless common name threads?

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe those should be all collected in one thread.

No.

Shouldn't this be a poll? I'm sure some people might think it's necessary!

Or at least into a new forumn *hint hint Ken* even though that doesn't help this situation.

I don't see the problem (I see the issue, but not the problem). Updates or questions were made, those topics are meant to serve a high priority for the database, they deserve just as much of a right to be there in bulk as any other topics even though it looks... um.... "overbearing" I guess is the word I'm looking for.

All of the other active topics are in the list; you just have to scroll a bit for a change.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

He who MUST get the last word in on a pointless, endless argument doesn't win. It makes him the bigger jerk.

Here's a quick tip: if you implement a forum block for user "surfeur51" (under "My Profiler" / "Blocked Users", bottom of the page), you'll find that the number of "Todays Active Topics" already cleans up nicely. And you'll still get to keep the common name-finding threads that are actually being maintained by someone, or at least the ones where something actually happens.

Lol, glad to see I'm not the only one with this idea.

This even made me more loughing: The user who was one of the biggest opponents against a new forum has shown very impressive it would be useful.

Hopeing on one or two of those started threads something good exists because of the help of some users. (It would be a pity to lose the confirmations some users already did in those threads)

Another good thing I learned because of this: If you remove a positive vote from a vote, you get it back and you have the possibility to put it on another post.

I don't know how this forum works, but

Is there a possibility that someone( or 2) could offer to be a a moderator/keeper of a new thread.  Someone with plenty of time to keep the info neat and tidy and on topic?

Just a thought.

Thanks for the hint! I'm aware of the forum block function. I use this feature only as "ultima ratio"!

Holy cow, I only just now realized how many of those threads were opened. Please, they will just get lost and forgotten. What a waste of time and space.
