Hi,

In some Sacha Guitry's movies, the credits are (partly) oral and informal. Consequently actors may be identified by their last name only, sometime preceded by Madame (Mrs.) or Monsieur (Mr.).

Using the CLT or data from the web, it is rather easy to find the correct spelling and the first name, if missing, but I have difficulties to figure out how to use the "credited as" entry.

If the last name only is mentioned, I assume that I should use "credited as last name". However should I include the Madame/Monsieur, if any, in the "credited as" entries, knowing that sometime there is a Mesdames/Messieurs (Mmes./Messrs.) at the beginning of a list of last names?

Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks for the clarification. I was aware of this possibility however it seemed to me that the very informal use of Madame/Monsieur in the context of these oral credits, rather different from the English use of Mr./Ms. as courtesy titles, was out of the scope of this rule.
