Is the selectable audio track for the whole movie or only for special scenes?

I'm pretty sure I've seen ones where you skip to the scene in the film, and it's an audio track that's just silent until it's part(s). True Romance had them on disc 2, so it was scrictly a special feature as there was no extra commentary track, just clips with the commentary on the bonus disc (not sure how BD is set up).
If it's an audio track over the film, even if it's silent for 99% of the time, it probably should be included as an audio track IMO. Can't recall if there's a rule.

I don't agree. An almost empty audio track should not be listed in the audio section as commentary the same way that we don't list partial subtitle tracks.

I would support a program update though which could attribute both subtitles and audio with partial. Then I would agree to list them both.

It would make sense to me. We keep track of the disc contents, so an audio track, even if off most of the time (most aren't really off either, you just hear 2.0 film soundtrack when the special comm. isn't going), is still going to show up as an audio track on dvdshrink and powerdvd. Just cuz it's partial it doesn't exist?

I can see both sides I guess, but lean towards including them for completeness sake.

The rules would have solved this, if it hadn't used the generic "disc menu". What disc menu exactly?

If I see a subtitle listed in a profile (maybe of a DVD which I'd like to buy), I expect it to be a full subtitle and not a partial subtitle which only translates the signs shown in the film. Therefore we do not list partial subtitles, even so they are technically subtitle tracks.

Exactly with the same logic, I do expect a full commentary, if it is listed in a profile, and not a few minutes of commentary for a couple of scenes only.

For me it doesn't matter that it is technically a real audio track (selectable or not), when it is silent for 90% of the film. Maybe I could accept it, when it were labeled 'other' instead of 'commentary'. Even better would be of course 'partial commentary' which isn't available unfortunately.
