I came across contributions for the child profiles of Stargate SG-1, and the contributor is trying to remove the "Sound" credit which I found out by viewing the end credits of the episodes is "Sound Supervisor".

The contributor is using the rule for "Recordist" to do this.

According to the rule for "Recordist" is only to be used when "There is no production sound mixing credit" the reasoning for this is that in the crew table both are in a yellow highlighted box and suggest it is only for that role.

Correct me if I'm wrong in this.

"Recordist" is only highlighted because it is a new addition to the rules, the "No PSM" rule applies to all credits listed under Sound

Needed a long time to get this known.

But if we would have done a quick check at the "Introduction" in the rules we would have seen this  :

Yeah, it looks a little confusing, but as ninehours said, the rule applies to all the credits listed under sound. Therefore the removal of the credit (if there's a production sound mixing credit) is correct.
The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play.
