what (or if) has to be entered in the original title field for tv series parent and child profiles?

For example, the UK lost series 2 profile
parent:
  title: Lost: The Complete Second Series
  edition: The Extended Experience
  original title: Lost: The Complete Second Season
child:
  title: Lost: The Complete Second Series: Disc 1
  edition: The Extended Experience
  original title: Lost: The Complete Second Season

But, the UK 24 season 7 profile has:
parent:
  title: 24: Season Seven
  original title: empty
child:
  title: 24: Season 7: Disc 1
  original title: empty

what is the correct way to go?
