| | Posted: | | | | Just got this DVD boxset  It is currently in the database with this title Title: Comedy Double: Fletch & Fletch Lives Edition: Slim 2 Film Boxset Which seems totally illogical to me so was wondering how others would enter this. |

| | Posted: | | | | Also I have a TV series boxset which has a slip case with 3 Keeps Cases each with their own EAN. This version is not in the database so I'm not sure how this should be contributed. Should it be contributed just as a TV series or as a boxset and then contribute each volume under the TV series rules. |

The rules don't offer you any kind of "ammo" to claim that the current entry is "wrong", nor do they say what title and edition should be. I, personally would use "Fletch & Fletch Lives" as the title, and "Comedy Double" as the edition, but again: anything goes...  |

You can indeed submit child profiles for each of the three discs using their EAN. However, for TV sets the parent profile always needs to have all the data listed (whereas with a movie box set, the parent is supposed to remain pretty much empty). |

T: Fletch & Fletch Lives
E: Comedy Double
T: Fearless/Unleashed
E: Jet Li Double
T: Father Goose/Bringing Up Baby
E: Cary Grant Double
Although I would also accept "Comedy Double: 2 Film Box Set" etc. as an edition as well. |

I've recently acquired several box sets and have been trying to come up with a formula that can be applied in most cases. What seems to work is listing both of the film titles and using a slash as a separator. I don't think a slash is part of the title of any film. I was using "&" but then I recently picked up "Turner & Hootch" so changed my thinking a bit. I would entitle the profile "Fletch/ Fletch Lives" Just about anything would work for the edition, even nothing.

The Edition field is for distinguishing between DVDs, and for indicating special versions and collections (for example The Criterion Collection, Widescreen, Full-Screen Edition, Director's Cut). It's usually safe to use one of the built-in selections if appropriate. If you are using a non-standard description, take it from the DVD box, and ensure it will help distinguish between different releases of the same title. I originally went with "Slim 2 Film Boxset" because it seemed to be the only thing on all of them that conformed to the edition rule? | | Posted: | | | | The reason I went with "Comedy Double" etc. as an edition is because that describes the collection much more than "Silm 2 Film Boxset" does. However I see your point, so maybe "Fletch & Fletch Lives: Comedy Double" could be the full title. That would work for me.
The thing I object to at the minute is putting the "xxxx Double" bit first. That seems very wrong to me and doesn't reflect the cover at all IMHO. |

I just typed a "/" in the Title box in the Filters window and with the exception of "Fahrenheit 9/11" and "Crazy/Beautiful" DVDs with two titles were displayed.
Typing a "&" resulted mostly in titles containing an "&". It seems that the slash is the most common separator. |

I understand your logic, and in the absence of a separator on the cover I also use the slash. However in the case of the Fletch boxset they use an ampersand on the cover so I'd use it in the title as well. |

Then it has two searate children and poof it's done. just follow the Rules, there's no need to genuflect and turn everything upside down and backwards and claim that it is unclear and so forth. It's right there, right on the front Fletch & Fletch Lives, that's the title. We could have some discussion about the Edition. I would probably say that while Nick had the Edition part right, I woukld ask him jokingly if he was a mutant or from a culture that reads bottom to top,  I would call Comedy Double certainly not part of the Title, but part of Edition and last to boot. Certainly NOT leading the title. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!!
