I'm trying to create a profile for the 1934 film "The Marines Are Coming" but am unable to find the production company in the database. The film begins with "Nat Levine Presents" and ends with a "Mascot Master Production", neither of which are recognized.
How do I proceed?

| | Posted: | | | | "Nat Levine Presents" is not a production company credit, nor is it a contributable person credit (unfortunately). I would credit Nat Levine under Production, with a custom role of Presents or Presenter--that's what I do in my local database. A little looking online seems to indicate that a "Mascot Master Production" indicates the production company was Mascot Pictures. Does that name appear anywhere in the credits? |

Thanks for the quick responses. I saw the button adjacent to Media Companies and didn't realize it applied to studios as well.
"Mascot Pictures" does not appear anywhere. If "Mascot Pictures" existed in the database I think I might have selected it, which was probably the wrong thing to do. This is film is one of ten in an AMC 5 disc collection and I'm running out of steam. |

A faster way is to copy/paste the studio in the studio field. Seeing as the only source of information I have is on the screen here's what I could do: Capture a frame where the name of the production company is displayed and print the picture. Place this in my scanner and OCR it to my word processing program, copy the result and paste it into Profiler.
Does this sound like a plan or what? |

| | Posted: | | | | You guys are doing too much, just look at the name and type it in.  I will grab names from imdb time to time, but only long confusing names that I then triple check against film credits. Once before copying it, once at entering it, and once more when audit is done. It's amazing how many times you can mistake an o for an a twice, but rarely ever 3 times I've found. |

When I could simply dictate the name to a stenographer, on a temp basis of course, have it dictated to a typist (another temp) and have it typed in with almost no effort at all!
I guess it's true when they say there's more than one way to skin a cat.
