I might add 'Volume 1' to the Edition field, otherwise, I agree with Katatonia.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Agree with Martian by way of Katatonia. I'd like the volume one in the edition, too.

Volume 1 in Edition field?    All TV series I have seen have the episode descriper in Title.

A help would be to know how another part of the series looks.

This seems to be Vol. 2:

I think this would be best:
Title = The Smurfs: True Blue Friends: Volume 1
Edition = Hanna-Barbera Kids Collection

Agree with VirusPil; Voulmes and Series info is part of the title field (though not part of the title itself for those who like to fill the Original Title field with the title without the volume...) for TV

That's actually the Volume Two of another Smurfs DVD set. Volume One looks like this.

Agreed
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I agree... for TV Series Volume, Season, Complete Series (What have you) info goes in the title field.

Like others have stated, I don't understand this at all. Never have we put something like that into the "Edition" field.

I do really feel that we need to take any season/disc/volume indicators out of the title fields (because dozens of them, often including many different translated ones, thoroughly mess up the CLT numbers), but instead of moving them to the "Edition" field, this really needs it's own field.

I have hoards of anime releases that are basically packaged like this.  All of them are handled consistently in the DB in this fashion:

Title: Volume: Sub-title

So, for your release it would be:

Title:  The Smurfs: Volume 1: True Blue Friends
Edition:  Hanna-Barbera Kids Collection

Incidentally, this seems to be Volume 2:
Amazon

And this Volume 3:
Amazon again

Again, looking at these they remind me very much of the way anime series are released, so that is the style I would go with.
If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

While I can wholeheartedly agree that the Volume should go in the title thread, I really wish Invelos would step in and define titles a little more clearly.

Between this and the other title thread, there really is very little consistency on some of the more complicated (?) titles.
