as Invelos no longer sees my contributions as a significant value, I leave the building and stop contributing, don't gonna sit on average profiling a dvd for 8 hours and then see it blocked by always the same people. The joy of profiling is gone, so is the need for contributing.

Sorry for all who appreciated the little contributions I made. Put my Online Collection in the bin, changed my e-mail address.

no votes forced me back to the forum, the same people forced me to this decision, they finally succeeded and no longer have to cope with my contributions.

What's much worse to my mind is the screeners ignoring them.  What's the point to voting "No" if the screeners are going to ignore valid objections?  They might just as well skip the voting process altogether.

Have you read Ken's stance on this, which I quoted for you on the previous page, at all? That the "standing policy is to accept profiles that add significant value"? That gives you all the answers...

invalid objections referring to rules that do no support these objections and still accepted by the screeners, making my contributions a less significant value?

The contribution note for this profile:
Quote:
According the dvd, dvd cover, movie credits on dvd and the Invelos Credit Lookup: cast, crew, studios, overview & dvd details
removed all uncredited non documented cast (checked @ Invelos website)
Could not find IMDB independent evidence to demonstrate these are in the movie.

Evaluate this contribution

*Updated Notes*
According the dvd, dvd cover, movie credits on dvd and the Invelos Credit Lookup: cast, crew, studios, overview & dvd details
removed all uncredited non documented cast (checked @ Invelos website)
Could not find IMDB independent evidence to demonstrate these are in the movie.

The sound credits are well within the scope of the rules, I'm not the only user tracking these sound crew!
"Frank Graziadei" is credited in the following 29 titles (131 profiles)
"Albert Romero" is credited in the following 14 titles (44 profiles)

This is not a wholesale removal of uncredited cast. I really don't understand your objections. I have no problems with  uncredited actors as long as they are documented and not got imported from somewhere else!
After a thorough search I could find no non-imdb evidence that these uncredited cast is in this movie. If this were the case I had this documented, like I did on other occasions:

Ken you should put a health warning sign on dvd profiler and the forum.
Profiling can damage your health.

contribution notes space is to short, if you need to defend your contributions against people like T!M

this was the link missing for the uncredited:
http://www.invelos.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=26266&PageNum=LAST
but as T!M don't like removing uncredited people and only his research is good enough for Invelos ....

scotthm I assume from the complaints and the tone.

If you don't like profiling per the rules, well, then don't do it.  Don't whinge about it.

Sorry to see anyone leave but, I would not take "No" votes so personally remember that there is life away from profiling.  When it comes to uncredited it is always going to be difficult to remove these entries.  What I do when it comes to uncredited is, when in doubt leave them alone, as members can easily remove these from their local profile if they want.

All I can say is anyone that has ever contributed has had their share of "No" votes even ones that are not justified.  If they are correct "No" votes I either make the corrections or pull the contribution depending on the error.  If they are not correct "No" votes then I leave it to the screeners and yes even the screeners make mistakes.

I personally don't contribute like I used to mainly because working two jobs and I enjoy watching movies more then just profiling them.  However, I still catch myself reading the credits way too much.

? was . who was... GigaWizard or something like that, if I remember correctly.

I thought he left when he changed his name to . or maybe that was just leaving the forum and not stopping contributions?

Either way, I will never understand people who stop contributing because they get some of their contributions rejected. I've given this advice in the past, and I'm sure I'll give it again, but as far as I'm concerned the secret to happy Profiling and contributing is simple:

Do it for yourself first and foremost.

Everything I do with my database I do it for me. And I am perfectly happy to contribute any work I do, I see no reason not to. If that contribution gets rejected, no big deal since I did it for myself to begin with and so there's no wasted effort.

Good one! Thanks for making me laugh.

Back on topic, I thought GigaWizard left some time ago. This is confusing but it's always sad to see someone leave.
