Recently I bought an interesting DVD box on Belgian beer called "Tournée Général". You should try it both.  But I get frustrated by this local documentary series, usually very little information is shown. I only found the names of the 2 producers and the 2 hosts of this 10-parts series.  British/US/German documentary productions show more pride in showing the names of crew and cast.
Time to try something, I contacted the local production company SPUTNIK TV and guess what I got a reply of someone of the crew giving some of the names of the crew members. Curious, this can only be expected when you contact a small local company.
Such external sources aren't given in the rules as a credible source, but seems to be a very usefull source.  I have incluced the text of the e-mail reply in my offered contribution. We'll see what happens.  Something I wanted to share. I don't know if others have done this before.

Greetings
Marnix

I'm pretty confident it will get accepted. Others have indeed done similar things, including myself.

In my case I needed a birthyear and e-mailed the person in question and got a reply with the answer. I quoted the response in my submission, just like you did, and offered to forward the e-mail to anyone at Invelos, should they desire it.

I was never asked to forward it, and the submission got approved.

This gets accepted with regularity on cast, but the rules are pretty clear that uncredited crew does not go in, period.  I presume that means you can't rely on external sources.  Granted, an oddball title like this that likely will get no votes one way or the other may slip in.  But it probably shouldn't, and don't be surprised if it is rejected.

People keep saying that, but it's just not true. Ken has publicly stated that crew actually can be listed from an external-but-official source.

Not to be overprecise,
but the important words in Ken's statement were: "in this case".
"This case", if I understood him correctly, meant that there are no credits at all.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Glad to hear it.
In cases like this I think I'd prefer to have proper information on the profile, even if it means bending the rules a little (a lot!).

In the long term, I wouldn't mind if Ken extended "uncredited" to crew as well, as long as the sources were very strict in the rules, ie: version of the same film with credits/first party sources only.

I would have no problems whatsoever voting yes on someone who got cast and crew information from someone who worked on the film. Glad the screeners see it that way as well.

I can't find the thread right now, but if memory serves me well, I think he also accepted it for the Japanese animation Ponyo. I seem to recall so since I was the one who romanized the credits from the official Japanese website. The problem there was that all names of the people who participated, crew and cast, were intermingled with no defined role for anyone. So in those cases, I believe an external, official source would also be acceptable.

I had totally forgotten that.  You're right, Ken has OK'ed it in limited circumstances, and I guess this would be one that fits in that general category if there's virtually no crew and you get the info directly from them.
