In the film Brain Damage, which is a U.S.A. produced film, all of the credits are in English. But there is one odd credit for Make-up that's shown entirely in French and listed below the "Make-up Effects Crew" in English:

Maquillage Francais de – Benoit Lestang

I'm unsure if this translates as just Make-up or Make-up Effects for one thing. I'm also unsure if this should even be added, thoughts?

Thanks for the reply. I'm really unsure if any of the film was shot in Canada or not. About all I can locate online for certain is that it was a U.S. production.

As far as the Actors go, I don't really see any obvious French names or Canadian actors. It's really the only Crew credit that appears in French also. Why it's even listed fully in French is certainly odd. Hmm...

In this case, then absolutely yes, I would credit him and I would vote yes to a contribution that includes him.

I have nothing against you. I disagree with your actions since you modify profiles that you do not own, and that has bad influence on linking of coherent parts of the database (per region/country).

As for French translation, (or for any other language), I think we could help between us if we were interested by correct data. I remember I send PM many times to some users to have correct spelling for an actor of their country. I also always answered to direct such questions about French.

What is ridiculous in that example, is that there is a typo in credit. And you want to translate this credit, and you have to follow rules : direct translation, reproduce exactly what is on screen, keep typo when exist : the only proper solution would be to reproduce the typo in the translation, translate Francais to Frençh, for example, which is absolutely ridiculous, but the only way to follow rules.

maquillage is in fact masculine, so maquillage français is correct.

I do not own the movie, but is it possible that scenes were turned in France ?. In that case, the best translation could be Makeup in France by ...
