Simple question: does a "Miniature Special Effects" credit qualify for a "Visual Effects" credit? Yes or no?

Edit: there's already an actual "Special Effects" credit a bit further down in the end credits, which certainly does qualify.

If there is no other "Special Effects" credit: "Yes"

Come to think of it: Wouldn't know why to exclude it, even if there were other FX credits.
We do add other default credits that have extensions, don't we?
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

The Black Hole (Disney) comes to mind.

Even though the film has many effects shots I can't contribute any of them.

For instance.

Miniature Effects Created & Supervised by
Mechanical Effects (Very likely for the robots)
Robots Created by
Animation Special Effects (likely for such things as thrusters and laser blasts)

There is, exactly that: first the "Miniature Special Effects" credit, and then, somewhat further down in the end credits, a separate "Special Effects" credit.

Do we? Like CubbyUps, I didn't think we did. "Sound Effects Editors", anyone?

It should be acceptable.  "Miniature" specifies which "Special Effects" are meant, but they are Special Effects, nonetheless.

Definitely should be acceptable, IMO.

I've personaly included them when they say "miniature special effects", but kept local when worded like "miniatures by" or "miniature effects by".

Always a recipe for disaster...

All in all, I gather that it's question of luck, right? If I submit this and it just so happens that a bunch of the no-voters own this, then it might get shot down, whereas if a bunch of the yes-voters own this, it'll probably get through. Or is it just a question of being suitably vague in the notes? Either way: not exactly a brilliant system...
