I looked at my reputation and noticed that I got a positive rating for contribution notes.

So I was looking at a few contribution notes of others and I can't find a way to give a positive rating to a detailed & very good contribution notes.

Is there something I'm overlooking.

Not directly from the contribution screen, no.
What you can do is open the profile in question in DVDP itself, and then click on the Contributors icon in order to open the existing page with contribution notes. On that page, you can give a greenie.

Complicated, but it is possible. It would be good though if Ken could make it less complicated to give ratings on contributions. I feel confident that e.g. Pantheon, who partially left for what he perceived as a lack of appreciation for his contributions, would have gotten more visible appreciation if it were easier to give greenies on contributions.

There is an easier way... you can go to pending updates... click on the paper icon before the title and that will bring you to the contribution notes page.

what usually happens is in contribuition votes someone may type in  'Thanks'  (etc)  and because there was now notes added there would then be the arrows provided for positive or negative ..
This is where you got your greenies from..
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

Actually the only one that can give the greenies to vote comments is the contributor. And he said this is for the contribution notes not votes. So it would be from the way dee1959jay and I stated above.

Except the OP was talking about notes, not votes. The way Addicted describes it is the way I use.

EDIT: LOL, 2 seconds too late.

Or on the evaluate screen the same icon appears above the contribution notes below the Vote No button and you can get to it from there too

I just looked on the Alice in Wonderland contribution page that I recently voted on and I can't find the arrows anywhere.

Do they appear only if you haven't voted on it yet?

If not and it should be on the contribution page where it lists all the previous/present contribution then I wonder why it doesn't show up for me?

Alice in Wonderland

I scrolled through all the notes and I don't see any arrows even on the current contribution by Themovieman. So it looks like the ability to give a rating is gone once I vote on the contribution itself. Is that correct?

There is a 2 day time limit on the arrows. The one you left the link for has already been there for 6 days. That is why you can't give a greenie to that one.

OK, now I see them on one dated the 26th.

I didn't know there was a 2 day limit.

Thanks for the details on how to it.
