| | Posted: | | | | Recently I bought a TV series box set which has a sticker with a new UPC over the original UPC the UPCs differ only in the last three numbers and it looks like it is a correction made by the distributor (the sticker is directly on the slip case under the cellophane).
A Belgian profile has already been submitted with the UPC from the sticker, but I'm unsure which UPC to contribute the profile with for the Dutch locality. |

| | Posted: | | | | Use the UPC on the cover insert itself (not the slip case sticker or slip cover sticker), because that's what will be used for the back cover scan (if a cover needs to be scanned). I have had a few of those (where the UPC is placed directly on top of another UPC). Hope this helps.

FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that.
Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it! |

| | Posted: | | | | Ok. If the new sticker can't be removed without damaging the old sticker, use the new one. If you can remove the new sticker and the old one is intact, use the old one. Scan the back cover and include the scan in your contribution to show which UPC you used (if scans are needed).

| | Posted: | | | | I'd also say nothing to correct at this moment. It helps getting the profile for users that don't remove the sticker. But if the UPC is needed for another profile I'd say it should be overwritten. ( click) |

| | Posted: | | | | Retailers here in the USA will often slap their own UPC label over the original UPC of a DVD/Blu-ray title when they include a Retailer Exclusive item such as a bonus disc with the original DVD/Blu-ray release. I've submitted a couple of Target Exclusives using their UPC in the past. This way we can have both the original and exclusives in the database.
Another case is when Amazon.com bundles single season sets into a "box set". They'll cover the original UPCs with blank labels and slap a new UPC on the outer wrapping. I'm not sure though if, in this case, the "Box Set" should be added to the database. Personally, I just remove the blank labels and add the single seasons to my collection. | | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |
