I'm working on a profile and came across this for Executive Producer and was wondering how this should be parsed:

Rui Jorge Teixeira Da Costa Reis

I Googled them and found nothing and he's not even on IMDb.

Would it just be Rui/Jorge Teixeira Da Costa/Reis?

I don't think anyone could fault you for that parsing since there's no data for him on the internet (I looked too).

I'll buy that James

You could also do
Rui/Jorge Teixeira/ Da Costa Reis

I don't beluieve either of those would pose a problem as a starting point.

It sounds like a Latin name. In Latin countries it's very common to take the family name of both the mother as well as the father, so I would put the last two parts in the last name field.

The above-mentioned "Rui/Jorge Teixeira/Da Costa Reis" would work, I think.

I would have gone with Rui/Jorge/Teixeira Da Costa Reis after reading this. I doubt we'll know for sure without input from the man himself, or a native Portuguese speaker.

Even with specific info relative Portugese names in general, does not mean that it would apply to any given individual. I would never make that kind of an assumption, but info from the actor or his agent would be of significant value.

I had an Portugese colleague which had also a last name with "da ...", so I'm tending to put this into the last field complete, but perhaps Teixeira also belongs to the last name.

^This.
Especially if you take into consideration a little googling for Teixeira and get a lot of obvious last names, but no first name.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

In this case every choose is an assumption, and I think that the best is the one documented by wikipedia
and google: Rui/Jorge/Teixeira Da Costa Reis
