I'm working on the crew credits for "Nine" and came across this one:

Now the credit before were for the 2 screenwriters and I'm sure Arthur Kopit gets credit for the novel (right?) but what about Mario Fratti?

No, that wouldn't be a novel.  The musical would have two sections - the musical part (here called Music and Lyrics By) which Yeston is credited for, and the spoken part (here - and often elsewhere as well - called Book By) which is Kopit.  It's basically a way of saying that Kopit wrote the 'play' part of the musical and Yeston the musical numbers.

They'd both be OMB credits for the musical.

I don't believe we credit "Adaptation" is any form, however.
If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

I already have him as OMB anyway (actually, we don't have a book or novel by as it's covered under OMB anyway).

I wouldn't give Mario Fratti a credit.

Adapted by was discussed in another thread. Try to find it this evening to post a link.
